I feel all tingly inside! It is wonderful that the car started and that it made almost 500 whp! That is awesome for not messing with the A/F! Also a huge thanks to brad, i got a chance to see an article in a Mitsubishi magazine that had wendys car in it, and among the list of names who contributed was mine! Im so glad my small donation meant something to you guys it really touched me that i was mentioned. I really wish you guys the best of luck and i hope that she will be able to hang on for dear life when she takes her first ride in this beast the tuner's community has created!

It made 545 not almost 500? And even on the first dyno if that what you are speaking of there was a lot of tweaking of the a/f to get it where it was. We certainly didn't just strap it down and make a pull and it was at that power level.

Car tuners are miracle workers great job guys very impressive!!

Huge props to everyone that donated and helped in any way on this project. This is a beautiful example of car enthusiasts coming together in a time of need.

I would like to take a minute and thank everyone and anyone who has donated to Wendy's car or kept the Pate family in thier thoughts and prayers. The support that Wendy has gotten from the DSM community has pulled her through many tough times in the past few months.

I am here with Brad and Wendy in these tough times and I am speaking on his behalf. It is with great sorrow that I must tell everyone that Wendy's condition has deteriorated. She is now in a hospice facility and is being surrounded with friends and family. Wendy is phenominal woman and is still refusing to go without a fight.

Wendy's car will still make it down the 1320 but it will be in her memory. Wendy's spirit will be the co-pilot stearing the car down the track.

Please continue to send your prayers this way, We are extremely appreciative.

I really dreaded this update. I'm not a religious man, but Wendy will be in the thoughts of my wife and I.

So I've been following this since day one and I was hoping this would not happen. Watching the DSM community come together as a whole and help complete Wendy's car is absolutely spectacular. Its been a huge inspiration to complete my own car and get it back on the road. My prayers go out to the Pate family and, as others have said, I wish the best of luck regarding the recent update.

My stomach just went into my throat reading this.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this turn of events.

Josh

Found this randomlly while surfing Google for pics of a certain exhaust. Wanted to make sure that the rest of the Tuners community could hear from Wendy herself, if you hadn't seen it already.

Good luck, Girly. I expect to see one sick build when I make it over to the other side.

I hate to do this but it has to be done. Wendy has passed on to a better place, Wendy left us at 2.30 this afternoon. She leaves us with memories and thoughts of inspiration. Wendy will be with us in spirit where ever there is a DSM and more then one person. She will be loved by many and will be missed by everyone. I will stay here with Brad and the boys as long as they need me.

Brad has a lot to deal with right now so I will be speaking on his behalf in the near future, Thank you for all of your kind words in our time of sorry.

Thanks for keeping us updated Sandra. I'm sad to hear the news, but know she's on to a better place. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with everyone affected in this tough time.

When Brad feels up to it and regains the mental and physical strength, I am looking forward to seeing what the car can do.

It's truly amazing that you are able to be there with them, Sandra. I wish I could get down there myself and I will do so as soon as I can. My wife was 14 when she lost her mother to cancer, so I've seen firsthand how it affects the people who are left behind. I know that Brad is in for a rough time, but if he's able to channel 1/100th of the strength that Wendy had he will pull through ok. Please pass along to him that his extended family in PA is thinking of him and the boys.

RIP Sis, I'm a better person for having known you. Somehow it's fitting that the last time I got to talk to you, I could barely hear you over the background noise of your car on the dyno.

I updated the build album with some more personal pics:

It is hard to find words to say at a time like this. I think the best thing we can do right now as the DSM community is keep Wendy's family in our thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, Wendy Pate. Your memory will not be forgotten.

Wendy remains an inspiration to us all. I consider myself fortunate to have had just the small chance to interview her and share her story on Gearbox. This is terrible news and such that I had been earnestly hoping would not come short of her getting to go out in the blaze of glory behind the wheel, as I figure most of us would prefer to get ours.

Wendy embodied going fast with class. She is missed, but she rides with us all now. Matron Saint of the DSMer I say. Seldom does the entire community unite under a common cause anymore. Wendy, despite her condition, brought us all together as one.

Thoughts are with the Pate family tonight.

Today I lost a very special part of my life. Wendy is one of the few people a would consider a best friend. I called her "girlie" and she called me "baby2". I have shared things with Wendy that no one else know. I can not think of a worse thing to happen to a better person. But through out this whole battle Wendy never lost her faith even till the end. The last time i came to visit Wendy we wer at the beach and we were having a heart to heart and I asked why this had to happen to her? Her reply to me was " Sandra, I may not know and you may not know but one day we will both know".

Girlieracr4g63, I love and you will be missed. I promissed you I would look after these 4 boys, and I ment it. I won't let you down.
Love Always

I never got the chance to meet wendy but she like many other dsm faithful represented what the comunity should be and what its really about. I am going to get my local decal supplier to make me a pink W that I will put on my car in hopes that anyone who sees my car and likes it will ask what the pink W is for and ill tell them.

RIP Wendy....I don't cry that your gone but instead aplaud your life :applause:

My stomach is upside down rite now.... I'm glad I had the chance to meet Wendy, and help out with her dream. My condolences to the Pate family and friends through this tough time. Rest with angels
