So here's the bottom line...I purchased a FWD 95 Eclipse GST project car, everything seemed solid on the mechanical side, so we fixed up some simple problems, then replaced the clutch as we knew there was a tranny issue, which sounded like a clutch problem at the time, but it ended up being that the transmission is bad.
I now found a 95 Eagle Talon TSi AWD roller body (tranny'd) with a dead engine, but my engine in my Eclipse GST is still strong, at only 86k miles. I was wondering, would a straight up engine transfer be a seamless transition? If not, what are the issues at hand?
First time poster, and I did research about engine swaps and it sounds like the only issues are 6 vs 7 bolts between 1G and 2Gs. I want to make sure that there won't be an issue as this was supposed to be on a 5,000 budget, but with a bad transmission, that's making things more difficult.
Thanks in advance for any help
