I just replaced my speed sensor 2 months ago and it worked fine but now it just sits at 0 again. Can that gear that its connected to get stripped or break off and cause it to not work? I don't see why the sensor would be shot it's 2 months old. I have an auto trans if that makes a difference..

for the 5 min it takes, to pull it out. pull the back cover off and check the gear for burrs and for play. It is made of plastic so it wont take much to damage it. If everything is fine might want to check for broken wires.

I have seen them on ebay. Find out why this is happening before you waste any more money. did you take the back plate off?

So driving to class today on the highway the speedo starts working again once i get up to 65. Once I slow down then and it gets under 40 the needle just drops to 0 and struggles to pick back up. Could this maybe be a bad wire or is that little plastic gear done?

take out the gear again and use a marker or somthing that will rub off if it turns so you will know if the gear is turning. when you do this drive slow enough so the speedo wont work.
