I'd like this thread to consist of each others knowledge and designs for their headlights and their eyelids.

Pictures are encouraged.

After searching for an official thread, i was unable to find a specific thread for just headlight eyelids.

I used Pagen gold house of color candy over the chrome lights.

deciding that i neede a lil different look, i decide to add eyelids to my already unique headlights.

started by wetsanding it with 320 grit,
using adhession premoters and flexible additives, painted the eyelids and cleared, then re wetsanded with 600 grit and recleard them, i may one day add a diy projectors, we will have to see.

when it's a lil warmer than 18 degrees outside I'll stick them in for a installed photo

thanx for the props, I know they aren't for everyone, I have been blacking everything out, so they really do stand out alot more than in those older photos.
I'd like others to post up theirs as well.

if it stops raining today i'll try to set them in the car for a photo.

I like the gold inside of your lights the eyelids look weird to me, maybe because they are short. I think if the went all the way down to the corner it would be better imo.

Do did you paint them in 05? Hows the paint holding up with the heat from the blubs?

What blubs are you running (hid's?)? Does it shine a amber type shade?

you know i thought about, it but when i reinstall them, we'll see if they look weird. if so, it isn't to dificult to extend the eylid.

Wow, that looks really good man! :thumb:

thanks i appriciate it.

just running stock bulbs..
I actually painted the gold in 2007 and i haven't had any problems whatsoever .
yeah they do shine in an amber color on the roads.

Very creative. I personally think they look great.

thanx i really do appriciate all the compliments.

Those lights really look awesome. Where did you get the gold candy paint?

on my verry first post you'll see in red, i used House of kolor pagen gold candy clearcoat over the abbrassed chrome.
:D

it effected it by turning it amber. I can still see just as much as before, actually maybe a lil more, as yellow lights seem to make things stand out much better than blue does, "IMO" other than changine the color, the quality of light hasn't really changed.

hmmm, I seriously would have thought some other members on here would have their eyelid setup they could post up and share as well. I don't want this thread to just be about mine, I'd like to make it easier for people to find photos for ideas of their own.

I like the yellow, but I"'m not a big fan of "eyelids".
I'll have to admit it looks way better than those sticker "eyelids" the Honda guys use!

Honestly I don't know if i like the eyelids either... the weather has been misrable, not counting the long hours trying to get cars out of our shop before the holidays.

Hey Keeles, have you ever think about doing the tail lights like my concept?

I have. Just not on my car. I've painted my center piece to match the car, and i used 5 coats of House of Kolor candy apple red over my taillights, and I'm pleased with how it looks.

interested in seeing pics of the headlights on the car with the eyelids installed???

i like the yellow also +1

me too, hopefully Sat will be nice.
and thanx

the rain and snow let up for a min so i just sat these in and sat the bumper on , nothing is bolted up, so all the gaps are horrible, don't worry,,

I am not happy with the eyelids, i think i am going to make them bigger and much more aggresive looking, unfortunately this will cover most the bright lights,

i apologize for the stall but i am in the middle of building a shop behind my house, so any future progression will be a long way off, I would like to see some of your eyelid designs here as well, even if thats just photo cropping.
