im starting a build to be ready for the spring for UTIs track day. im working on my 95 eclipse gst. dont exactly have a set budget. got a few ideas in mind. see where it takes me.

Engine:
sticking with the 7bolt for now. stock bottom end. port and polished head. with cometic head gasket. fmic with short route pipes. 60mm 2g throttle body.

Transmission:
looking to throw a lsd in. fidanza light weight flywheel. haven't decided on the clutch yet.

Tuning:
apexi safc2. maft set up for blow threw. keydriver set for evo 560s. haven't decided if i should use the 2 or 3 step features. boost, volts, oil pressure, and wideband gauges

Turbo:
small 16g. dejon dual mbc

Suspension:
tein ss coilovers. not sure on which brand of camber kit.

Wheels/Tires:
to be determined. probably need to go with radials

See what happens from here. car should be a sleeper when im finished. would like some input on the tranny. while i have it apart what would be a good idea to replace.

For replacing things while you have the tranny out. I would just replace the obvious parts. Ex. Check your flywheel plate, Clutch set, throw out bearing, check the fork and ball, replace the seals, change the fluid, and if you want to get a s.s. clutch line that replaces the clutch dampener.

picked up a fidanza lightweight flywheel for cheap. prob sticking with one of there clutches. thats kind of what i was thinking. didnt know if i should upgrade anything inside because of the lsd. but thanks. ill look into picking up some ss lines. see how things look when i tear it down.

Thats the same flywheel that i have in mine and it seems to work fine. I got my ss clutch line off of ebay for about $20. Really easy to install. I don't think you need to upgrade anything inside the tranny. Just make sure that all the gears look good and no chips or scratches. Also i've heard of people changing out their 1st and 2nd gears with those from what i believe was out of an evo 3 or so. I can't remember for sure which one but it gives you more accelaration in lower gear because of it being longer.

ill look into that. JNZ sells a 2nd Gear Upgrade (Dual Cone Synchro) for $350 and evo shift forks. i know that the evo3 5th gear is taller. im not sure where you could find that on its own though.

An act2600 clutch and pressure plate is a very stout upgrade ,and works really well with a fidanza flywheel.

If it is in your budget it would be nice to have one of the big trans shops do a nice rebuild on your trans while putting in the LSD. I have been running a TRE Stage 2 build with a few extras for the last 60,000 miles of hard driving, autocross, track days, and drag racing and I pulled it apart a few months ago to upgrade to a four spider differential and it looked perfect inside. I was very impressed.

id like that but ive taken a tranny apart in my classes and i sure i could figure out what might need to be replaced. ill drop in a new dual synchro for second. installing a the lsd would be the most challenging part but i have alot of teachers who are always willing to help out when needed. so im not jumping into this blind. hopefully this will save me money in the long run LOL
