just curious if anyone has done this before, i was thinking about it to open things up a bit by takin the cat out, but i know that results in a cel coming on. would a glass pack in its place eliminate that?

Switching it with a glasspack wont do nothing that you want it to. All a glasspack is, is another type of muffler. A cat is suppose to heat up and burn off left over gases from the combustion event.

What if you swapped it for the muffler? Would that make a nice difference in pitch/sound? I mean I'd imagine so but would it sound good?

will i notice any gains by cutting the cat out? i mean, i already have a 3 in all the way back, would it help spool the turbo faster?

yes it will help you spool a little fast but im not sure how much if you already have a 3in exhaust!!
And you will get s slight gain, nothing really too noticeable!
i personally dont think it worth it... id stick with a 3in high flow cat.
But if you take the cat off.. it will be a bit louder and have more of a gas smell!!
im running with a testpipe and when i come to a stop light my car fills with the smell of exhaust gases!!
and its not to healthy for the enviroment!

two reasons why im looking for a 3in high flow cat...
well and the fact i live in austin and they smog my car!!
:/
haha

but you have a 95.. you have 2 o2 sensors... i believe the back o2 sensor is there to make sure the cats doing its job, so you will get a CEL
but i guess #40fan has link you to help with the CEL

IMO it's not worth the minimal gain. The car will smell like CRAP and if you care about the environment- just leave the cat on.

yeah after thinking about it, im gonna say screw it haha. i guess i was curious to wheather it was worth it or not too. thanks for the advice because i already have the high flow cat in.
