Hey guys, I need a lil advice for my '95 Eclipse. I'm a relative noobie to the 420A Eclipse, but not to builds. I've searched this forum and others with lil luck as to interchangable parts. I'm not a moron, I know that $3000 isn't goin to get me into the 10's and honestly thats not my goal. I've had some relatively fast cars in the past, 3000GT VR-4, B18 CRX's and Civics, built Integras, and I even had a decently quick 96 Eclipse, but its not that kind of party. I'm looking for inexpensive OE interchangeable parts, for example, will Galant or 3000GT throttle bodies fit my eclipse, Diamante brake rotors, ect. I'm not looking to drag race GSXR's, I'm looking for inexpensive upgrades over stock to see if I want to turn this car into something or if I'll just flip it like I did with my last one. I've worked on this car for 2 weekends (the car had nothing when I bought it), so far I've put in a fresh 420A and trans, headers, CAI, GST exhaust, Rally Art steering wheel, cdp, halo projector headlights, and a few misc things. Thank y'all for your help and I've really enjoyed your site thus far!:thumb:

Honestly the mods you have done are all you need. The last thing you wanna do is turbo it.

A Jeep throttle body would fit on the 420a.

But seriously, don't waste your money on it. Its not gonna be anything.

DD it as is, then wait and pick up a gs-t or gsx.

+1^^ Its not that the car isnt worth upgrading, its just that you will get more bang 4 your buck if you just start from a better foudation such as a gst or gsx! And it sounds like you are looking to stay on a budget.

That is correct, I'm not looking to do a $1000 Evo brake upgrade. Most of the vehicles that I have built were Honda's and (for the most part) majority of the parts were interchangeable with out major modification. I was trying to be optomistic by thinking that maybe the DSM products would be the same. :ohdamn:

This guy couldn't be more right. You can spend 4000$ on a forged block and cheap turbo set-up and still make what a stock gst or gsx would make with an intake filter LOL. It's all about the platform, another example, which would you rather build on, a b16, or a k20 LOL. Platforms are the base of EVERYTHING. good luck with it man! you did right to ask on the forums

DSM parts are incredibly interchangeable but a 420a based car has very little Mitsubishi in it and is much closer to a Neon so you should be looking the in the Dodge parts bin. a 4g63t car is incredibly easy and cheap to mod, a 420a car not so much. Also instead of spending $1000 on an evo brake upgrade why not look into cobra or corvette brakes for a fraction of the price?

He stated he "wasnt" looking to do that.

Anyhow, yes, you should just stick with the mods that you have now. Find a gsx,gs-t or TSi to start a build from. They are very easy and cheap to modify and you can get great power from them if you know what you are doing! :D
