I have two family members with cancer......one lost the fight about 12 yrs ago....the other is currently winning...I know its not easy...and its not something anyone should have to go through....hang in there, be strong for everyone in your family........

I am hanging in there and it is so tough seeing her in the hospital all the time. They did a abdomenal X-ray this morning thinking she has an obstruction in her small intestines. She is unable to go to the bathroom. This could be the new lower ab and back pain solution. Surgery has been brought up already. Just gets tougher as the days pass.

THE CAR...... First the tranny pours fluid as fluid is added from the axle inlet. Wrong axles seals. FIXED. The flywheel is wrong. A AWD flywheel was sent, its not even close to the starter to engage it. I will get with Punishment Racing to get this resolved tomorrow. Not a big deal, just have to pull the tranny, axles, etc...

BIGGEST ISSUE......The Aeromotive A1000 that was sent was used. It is fried! If anyone knows a vendor that could sponsor the Aeromotive Eliminator please let me know or contact them for me. I just want this car running soon so it can go to the dyno and be dialed in. Then to have the cage out in, then to the body shop. Alot left to do.

???? I am uncertain how to wake up from this nightmare. Wendy is finally home and has been in the hospital since Friday. Hospice is now involved and is managing her pain at home. They came this evening to get her all set up with a at home Doulated drip. Questions were asked that I didnt want to hear. Does she have a living will or power of attorney. If she codes does she want to be revived. How the HELL can such a wonderful person be where she is? I have cried for days already. I feel that I am already mourning. How do I manage without her? I know that I will cherish every single moment I have with her and that she knows that I love her as our vows stated. I need a miracle!!!

Hello everyone,

It has been brought to my attention that there are some people out there that believe I have been a part hoarder. Also, that I have built Wendy a car that is way overboard. I want to appolgize if that is the way some of you feel.

I started this thread to just tell my wifes story. I am overwhelmed by the response and extremely grateful! My intent was with only Wendy in mind and to get her car to make a 10 sec pass with ease.

I do think that I stepped out of bounds to ask for a Eliminator pump when we had the A1000 ( its burned up). I should have just asked for another A1000.

I will not mention the person that said some things but I do feel that he doesnt know me or my character. I would never try to get things that we were not going to use. Every item that we have received is on the car with exception of the fuel cutoff switch. Reason is we kept the battery under the hood and mounted it on the frame beside the tranny. So, JoeSobo if you would like that switch back I can ship it to you. Let me know.

I truly feel that my character has been questioned and its not a good feeling. My sole goal is to build my wife a car with a bolt on turbo and for her to run 10s. I must also say I was contacted by more than 80% of the sponsors on the list and will not ask anyone for anything else.

We did receive the correct flywheel this week,Tim ( Punishment Racing). Thanks for going out on the limb for the build. Still waiting on the fuel pump to finish the build next Sunday. I know this has been a long drawn out process but Wendy hasnt been able to drive since this all started. I am remaining optimistic that she will get the pain under control and will make a few passes in the car. If she cannot drive it, I will try to drive it and she can sit shotgun. She will get her 10 sec pass. I will see to it!!!!

Thank you all for following up and along with her dream build. Wendy still has a long road ahead of her and will be fighting it till the end. Chemo starts again tomorrow and based on this weekend I would have never thought she would want to go through with it. She is determined and thats why I love her so much.

Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I hope this post makes sense. I am a little pissed that people that dont know me would think such things.

Or maybe you shouldn't have asked for anything, and laid some cash down yourself on it. When this is all said and done with are the parts being returned to the people that bought them or are you keeping them and the car to enjoy?

Dude come on.It's not like hospital bills are the cheapest.I'm sure they have laid plenty of money down already on bills. It's nice that there are people on this site that want to help someone going through a hard time in life.Has anyone in your family ever had cancer?I just lost both of my grandpas last year because of cancer.My grandma had cancer and she fought it and won.It's a horrible thing to happen to someone.

You and I were just talking on the link and I thought you a respectable dsm member with class and good character.......until now

I PERSONALLY without being asked got people together to help out with this build not wanting anything in return except seeing Wendy make a 10 sec pass and hopefully get to meet her god willing along with brad. I don't want money back the parts back anything. I think that anyone that has given their time/money/parts to this build feels the same way. We hall have stuff laying around we don't need and there are 10000 worse things or ways we could have got rid of these parts.

So I think I speak for the entire dsm world when I tell you sir with all due respect STFU

The new Pump shipped thursday. Should be in your hands soon.

Money is not something we have at all. We have over 300K already in treatments, meds, and Hospital stays. Let me assure everyone that I have laid down plenty of my own money for this build. I was just talking to Wendys mom about the car almost being ready to fire up. She said HELL YEAH, put her ass in the car and that will really make her feel so much better. She said it may spark something in her that she has been lacking. Happiness is a drug that cannot be purchased!

I havent had the heart to ask her about what she wants to do with the car if something happens to her. I cant believe I just typed that. I know she will want me to race it in her honor but that is going to be so tough. It will bring back so many memories of she and I. Im sure I will just ball if I get in it to drive it.

How about having Wendy put her autograph on a piece of paper or sheet metal, and making it a commemorative plaque to mount on the dash. A rolling testimony to her character and who she is to you and the tuners here.

Having an opinion makes me not have class? I think it's awesome she is getting what she's always wanted, just something doesn't seem right about this whole thing is all. Just seems that some things aren't good enough for the build, even when free.. First off he didn't like the color choice of the fuel fittings, and now the pump wasn't good enough. Ive also offered parts for her build but nothing i had was needed. I know there are many other people that feel how i feel but they don't want to speak up.

These people donated those parts and that money.

Notice I didn't say they "lended" or that she "borrowed" parts and money. Why would it all be given back?

I also recommend reading post #4 in this thread and hope the mods will enforce their statement.

Reading this over and over (with updates) always chokes me up. The compensation of a few colored fittings to the pain I'm sure Wendy, Brad, and their families are going through pale in comparison. I hope you two keep strong in this and know that there will always be a small percentage of people with opposing opinions, let that not put your character in question nor take away any luster of what this project really means to you two and the community. You guys are still in my prayers.

The correct flywheel needs to be installed. Unfortunately, we received an AWD flywheel and didnt take notice until we started to fire it up and the starter wasnt even close to the flywheel. We have it now and will install it this up coming Sunday. Also the A1000 fuel pump we received was burned up. Emery at STM has sent another A1000 to put in its place. Thank you again Emery!!!

Those two items should have the car running, then off to the dyno the following weekend. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I gave you all the shipping info and you never sent it so I didnt want to keep PMing you about them. Then Jay just sent the fans with the radiator. Thats just how it went. Whatever the disagreement is, I hope it can be put to rest. I'd personally like to see the thread continue in the direction it was. Not a bickering platform like so many other threads to where you just get sick of reading all the arguing. Would just be nice if some people would show some respect and if ya have a problem, take it to pm's versus making yourself look like an ass (I knew someone was gonna do it sooner or later, was just wondering who it was gonna be and when they were gonna do it).

Anyway, hope things are going great with the build and hope Wendy is doing better.
