I never have but doesn't seem too hard. Just some pipe with a little board on the top and of course something to lock the locktop down to it, either side clips or a just rubber top.

If this was a full race car I would personally mount mine to the center frame on the passenger side and just have it chillin there. But since mine is not, I just have a little 10.2" netbook that works wonders and is super small.

I had thought about this once and tried to look into how laptops are mounted in police cars. I never went far with it but may be something to look into.

I appreciate it but id much rather attempt to make one. . What i was thinkin was taking out my (2g) cup holder, and ash tray. . Fabricating something somethign from that postion bc my dsm link is mounted under my glove box. . The only problem with this is id have to shut it to shift, unless i try to angle it maybe?
And can anyone help me on the boost controller?

Hallman makes a in-cabin. Cable operated.

Hoses for BCs and wastegates need to be as short as possible.

I've seen a couple laptop stands, they have a piece of flat iron going across the two bolts for the seat.

Check eBay for in-car laptop stands. They typically have tons of pictures in those ads, and it might give you some ideas on how to design yours and where to anchor it.

I plan to build one this winter. Mine will probably be anchored to the front set of passenger seat mounts. My goal is to design it to be collapsable, quick to remove, and still allow for a passenger to sit in the passenger seat with it in place.

Floor board or a friend sounds good to me LOL. The one's in police cars are welded to the passenger side where the trans tunnel would be. These are on a swing arm with locks thats about it.

I don't understand why you would want to take your laptop around everywhere. Realistically, you won't be tuning every time you drive your car. So I suppose this is more of an appearance mod?

I'm pretty anal about having the logger running, even if the screen is down. I'm more inclined to work a CarPC into the vehicle than a big-ol stand, though. I saw someone on Link Forums has a nice little setup going.

I can't remember the last time I drove my Eclipse without a laptop. Granted, it's not always in use, but I do always have it with me. It's just nice to have a diagnostic tool onboard just in case something bad or unordinary happens (because, one day, something WILL happen).

And even if a person did not want to take their laptop with them all the time, it would be nice to have a removeable stand to hold it in a fixed position. I don't know about you guys, but my laptop slides all over the place when it's just sitting on the passenger seat. It's only a matter of time before it falls off the seat and breaks, or I try to catch it and cause an accident.

I have a net book i just recently acquired.

I am actually working out a design with a good friend of mine to do a glove box hide away install. And i will be running a video cord to a 7 inch monitor in the dash to keep a real time display of whats going on. And i already have a wireless mouse and keyboard.

We extended the depth of the glove box to include room for my stuff as well as a mouse, and the keyboard mount is already done it just goes in the back of the seat pocket haha.

Just gotta wait to get DSM link and my new injectors and pump in january and this whole setup should be done by about mid february.

The net books fit quite nicely in between the front seats and make a nice enhancement to the glove box lid.

I have an in-car pc and I love it. I use it for link/mp3/satellite radio/etc. I have the logger running all the time. As soon as the pc boots it launches DSMlink. :D

One thing to keep in mind... if you're going to run a car pc get a SSD. I have an old 2.5" HDD right now and when I launch really hard it'll occasionally cause the pc to reboot. ROFL
