While the block is apart, and everything is out of my engine bay, what else should i be doing?
Do I need a new oil pump?
are there any other internals I should be getting?

I have a 91 GSX the engine block and head are in the machine shop.
The Block has been decked, and cylinders are bored to .020.
I have him installing wiseco pistons with the stock rods.
I have the machinist also installing new bearings all around.
I pulled out all the vacuum shit, the ABS, the AC, the Cruise Control, and everything else I didn't need.
I will be running the stock 14b until I start making money again.

I have:

ARP headstuds
EGR Block-off
Shift Bushings
Shifter mount washers
Short-Throw Shifter
Full 02 Back 3" Megan Exhaust
All the Free mods done

plan to buy:

BS Eliminator kit.
FMIC (not a kit)
Aluminum Radiator
Radiator Hoses
Timing Belt Covers
Turbo Oil feed/return SS braided lines
Clutch
Some sort of intake...
MBC
Full Gasket Set
Exhaust Wrap
DEI silicone spray
catch can
FIAV block off

I want to have a car that is quick enough to smoke the "racer" civics in Hawaii, but I need it to be reliable, and i need everything done right
Please let me know what I should do to make it successful and last a while, because I have 4000 and increasing spent on this car.

I would say a OEM water pump while your there already.Cosmetic head gasket,Full Tune up,replace all hoses, and belts. polythene mounter mounts while your engine is out maybe.

Since you have a gsx lauching isn't going to be a problem when racing FWD civics. To be honest they really have nothing on AWD vehicles, especially starting from a standstill.

If you are buying an aluminum radiator I would steer away from no name brands. This might have been a fluke but I received on through punishment racing, and the top inlet for the hose was bend, thus leaving me to modify the FAL shroud/fan kit. Moshimoto or fluidine.

I would also replace all the spark plugs and wires. NGK FTW!

The stock 14b has a lot of potential. a manual boost controller well help you gain more power out of this turbo. Remember that the stock 1g BOV has a limit of about 17 psi.

goodluck! I hate civics too LOL

Thanks BoostEclipse, DeerHunter: will be getting motor mount inserts, SS clutch line, tune up, oil pump, tbelt tensioner/pulleys, i am adding all that to the to buy list.

Thanks agentorange for the bit about no name radiators, i will take that into consideration for sure along with adding wires to list of things to buy.

So now, to buy list is:

BS Eliminator kit.
FMIC (not a kit)
Aluminum Radiator
Radiator Hoses / all hoses
Timing Belt Covers
Turbo Oil feed/return SS braided lines
Clutch
Some sort of intake...
MBC
Full Gasket Set
Exhaust Wrap
DEI silicone spray
catch can
FIAV block off
Wires & Spark plugs
Oil Pump
Timing Belt Accessories
OEM water pump
Braided Clutch Line
Tune-up
nice headgasket of some sort
motor mount inserts
extended clutch rod ---?
All Fluids to be changed to synthetic - Gearboxes, T-Case, Transaxle, Tranny, Engine

if I am missing anything important on my list, please chime in!

yes, the fuel system...

I thought that it might be OK to go with stock fuel, until I make enough money for a 16g and dsmlink.

What do you think??

i wont have it running more than 12-15 psi, because my dad may be driving it... however, when i return and make money, i will want some more kick...

The upgrade path is really easy to follow, but honestly I feel like it only focuses on gaining more horsepower. Yes that would be the overall goal, but understanding you car and how it works it the first step.

I bought a stock 91 TSI AWD and the first modification I made was getting a eprom ecu with DSMLink, and a laptop. This allowed me to see how my car was running and also how to get it to run perfectly stock. This was definitely a good process for me to learn how to tune a car. All together I spent about a 1200 on a laptop, DSMlink, ecu, and supporting wires and cables.

After I got DSMlink I started the upgradepath. intake, boost gauge, MBC etc.

Just my 2 cents.
