I was looking at Evo tuning.. I was bored... and I stumbled across something that they use a lot as a logger. It is called EvoScan. I went on the web site: http://www.limitless.co.nz/#SupportedVehicles, and it actually says it works with our cars too and any mitsubishi up from 94 using the "MUT/MUT-II/MUT-III protocol" for the logging... This logger logs everything including knock sum.. would it be possible that because this logger uses the Mitsubishi protocol and not the generic obd protocol that it can log things that the other generic obd2 loggers can't?

I have a 98 GSX, I have read through this entire thread and many others trying to figure out exactly how to get evoscan to work. At first I had a lot of issues, now with ecuflash installed and evoscan reinstalled, I was able to get it to start logging. The problem now, it doesn't show it on screen. On the right side it shows it reading data to my computer, but nothing is displayed on my screen, and after I stop logging, it won't playback either. Any ideas? A step by step would be awesome to get this program to work LOL.

Did you click on 'open logfile in graph' under the 'logging' dropdown menu on the top of the window? You can view the playback in the graphing utility, too. Go to the 'graphs and maptracer' dropdown menu, and click on 'realtime logging data graph'. Move the newly created window over and click 'start playback'. Then the graphing utility will show you the curves as they occurred in realtime.

I was wondering if EVOSCAN is worth it if anyone is familiar with it. i dont hear anybody talking about using it though. Also Everyone says that DSMLINK is the only thing that REALLY logs knock, well does evoscan log knock?

It's been awhile, I know, but had a question I meant to ask months ago. It's a noob and easy one. When looking at your coolant temp., you look at Coolant Temp Scaled, correct?

:dsm:

Sorry to drag this thread up again. I have evoscan, had for quite some time and couldn't get it to work properly. Now the only problem is that after I log, it won't playback. The graph shows blank, and all the readings remain 0. Any ideas why it will log but doesn't show or even get any information from my ecu?

Ive got a ELm327 cable with a 95 NON eprom and It wont connect, ive tried lowering the baud rate to 1953, 9600 and 38400..no dice for the 95's with ELM327 cables

sorry to bring this back from the dead but i was wondering the same thing as the guy above me i have the ISO 9141-2 cable from pocket logger and was wondering if i got the db9 to usb adapter if this would work with pocket logger as it does data log the 2g ecu using the pocket logger software.

SO, just to double check, what all do i need to make this work with my 90 gsx? I have not heard a bunch on whether it works fine with 1g, mostly alot of talk about 95 and 97 cars. Any help or feedback before I purchase a data logger would be helpful!

There's an option in the device set up MMC (1g/12pin) for evo scan v2.6 idk if that means it will work for a 1g though. I have evo scan but can't even get it to work for me with my vag 409.1 cable

Ya i would also like to hear more of the 1st Gen guys using this.
I currenly use TMO program with commondly used logger cable/usb adapter/null modem adapter. I would like to know if this cable would work instead of buying one of there $90 cables.

MORE 1G EXPERIENCES PLEASE:pray:

Your current one will work as long as it's a serial one and you buy a serial to USB converter with FTDI chip inside (I got one from ebay)

HMMM not sure if my Keyspan Us19hs serial to usb adapter has one.
I would like to log WB and TMO can't do that.

You can always feed the EGR-T input on the ecu with a 0-5v wideband output and log EGR-T, then convert the data to real AFR values.

Haven't been following this whole thread, so hopefully I'm not repeating anything anyone else has said.

The main reason I LOVE EvoScan is that it has the option to add signals from Zeitronix and other wideband products. So now I can log WBO2, egt, boost, and all the ECU functions in ONE place. The logger works great, but the graphing is cumbersome compared to the TMO and Zeitronix loggers, though there's a ton more things that you can do with the logs in EvoScan. EvoScan saves the logs immediately to an excel file. No need to export. The *one* downside for me so far was that the timing was off by 10 degrees, and I had to open the parameters for timing to fix it.

Overall it's GREAT for 1g owners. Cheap logger that puts everything in one place (no more separate TMO and Zeitronix logs for me!!)

Old logger cable I got on ebay years ago. Works fine. I had to find the right serial to usb converter though. Over at the Jackal website they have a straight up USB logger cable now for 1gs that's super cheap. Check that out if you need one.

Well i bought and downloaded Evoscan, It seems to log alot of things including WB. My question is where would i tap in my LC1's #1 output (yellow wire)?

works fine with 98 ecu and also a reprogramble with ecuflas without problems i have now my 98 ecu with mi rc550 and i m going to make tuning soon

bye!!!

You should use the LC-1 serial cable. It has audio plug on one end and a 9 pin serial on other.

Using the the LC-1 digital serial protocol, will produce 100% accurate readings.

Logging the analog output can cause a voltage offset and inaccurate readings.

Check the LC-1 docs, for how to hook up the serial cable.

Well, with Evoscan you don't have to tap the WBO2 output into anything. Does the LC1 come with a logging cable and software to log your AFRs? With Zeitronix, a logger and cable is included to log just the Zeitronix parameters (WBO2, boost, EGT, and an additional 5v input). I don't have to tap my zeitronix WB output to anything, I just plug the Zeitronix logging cable into the computer (along with my ECU logging cable), and EvoScan compiles them both into one log. That is my favorite feature of EvoScan. I can log all my ECU functions plus everything from Zeitronix all in one log...though I have to plug 2 logging cables in to do it (my ECU logging cable and my Zeitronix logging cable).

Of course, that's not to say that EvoScan isn't capable of reading an input tapped to the ECU from your WBO2, I just haven't tried it and you don't need to do that as long as you use the logging cable included with your WBO2 (assuming it has one). Does that make sense?

EDIT: I didn't read the above post closely enough at first, but I believe he is saying the same thing I am. Looks like the LC-1 does come with a serial cable according to that. If you don't have a serial input on your laptop (or it's already taken up by your ECU loggging cable) get the keyspan or sewell serial to USB adapter.

I do have a keyspan adapter,It'll be used for the LC1 .
The keyspan adapter did not work with Evoscan but i did order a usb/logger cable from DS-maps.
I think they are still in development though, Anyone know when they'll be ready??
Logging wb on Evoscan is perfect since i never figured out how to add the RPM guage on the LC1's logworks:ohdamn:

would the evoscan work on my 97 eclipse gsx? All the posts seem to talk about no to 95-96 and yes to 98-99 but what about 97? And if no to 97 what else do I need to use it besides a ecu from 1998-1999?

Evoscan works. You can't do program with EcuFlash, but you can log with EvoScan. It works great for dialing in an SAFC.

so in order to reflash I would have to go to a 98 ecu and put in a wire on my harness for pin 97?

Yes. To reflash you will need either a 98/99 ecu or a Evo 8 Ecu and you will need to add a pin for the reflash wire.

But evoscan will log the 97 just fine. Just no tuning.
