I am working on rebuilding a NT 94 Eclipse that I just recently picked up. While I wait for my block to come back from the machine shop, I'm pulling my hair out finding something to do. SO, I whip out the right angle grinder and a few pads and get to work. Let me know what you guys think about this. I'm not done with it. I need to hit it with a final pad and get the rest of the scratches out, but here is a "first step."

Man Ive always speculated that there HAD to be something MItsu put there. None of my DSMs ever came with one...

Very nice clean engine man. :hellyeah: im looking forward to what this looks like actually in the car.

I'm going to leave the plug cover on for now, I like the way it looks better than without it there. Once I get it running, I will be swapping over to a coil on plug set-up that I have built for it.

Here she is, dropped in. Two more hours of work, and she'll be ready to fire and drive!

It runs now!!!! Cranked and fired first twist of the key. Need to finish up the exhaust, and throw the axles in it and off I go!!

Looks really nice and clean man. That motor deserves a turbo while it was out in the open, makes for a much easier install.

Thanks. I will post more pics once my Cosmo Racing short ram air system is installed. Looks like $hit with the stock rubber intake tube and air cleaner box.

As for a turbo... Nah. I'm going another route with this one!

I got this car 5 weeks ago. One week for tear down and make a list of what was needed. Then I waited 3 weeks to get the engine back from the machine shop. Then a week to assemble and get it running.

For those people that like this idea but prefer a metal finish you can pick up a can of duplicolor or vht high temp engine paint in clear. Once you get the thing nice and shiny you can just through down a clear coat to protect it from getting dull.
