galant vr4 swap questions

Hello,
I currently have a 1990 talon awd tsi. I recently bought a 92 galant vr4 shell, and have a couple questons about swapping everything over.

-Will my transmission work? I have a friend who tried to put a 90 transmission into his 91 talon and said it was a nightmare.
-Will my stock 1g radiator work? I hear alot of different opinions on this and was wondering the easiest route to go.
-Anything else I should be concerned with?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Steven you should have called me. The transmission will work if you use the 90, cables assuming they fit. If you want you can come get these 90 shifter cables I am about to send to the junk yard and do a test fit before you pull the trans out of your car.

FYI, found this on Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 Forum - E39A 4G63

GalantVR-4.org: 1g eclipse/talon radiator into gvr4?

Tranny should fit. vr-4s could have 22 or 23 spline output shafts. On your 90 youd have to move part of the shifter brackets on the transmission. FYI, I have a JDM tranny pn WQNK which is a galant EVO close ratio tranny. I used the bracket off my OE tranny to make it work.

go to the GalantVR4.org forum for this project and use the SEARCH function....you will find EVERYTHING needed to complete this project successfully....Good luck and ask for help if you cannot find things with search....BANZAI!!!!

Will do. I have been there before and tried to use their search function, but its a little aggravating the way they have it set up. Whats your s/n on gvr4.org?

aww why are you ruining the vr4! thats worth more than the talon complete, i guess im just sad to see another die.

????? Hes taking all of his stuff out of the talon and putting it in the galant to get the galant back on the road. How is he ruining the galant?

I remember seeing somewhere about the shifter cables being exaclty the same length on 90-94 cars, the only difference being the shifter and the bracket on the tranny. (maybe the tranny shifter linkage???)

I wasnt able to find it, maybe somebody here can point him to it??
