Hello Fellow DSM'ers,

Alright the low down is i bought a 95 GST and ran into a bunch of problems. Long story short i fixed every single coolant leak that made itself apparent and just recently resealed the oil pan because the idiot that last sealed it was an r-tard and didnt clean the surface before applying the sealant and used the wrong stuff anyway :banghead:. Luckly the oil leak wasnt that bad but ANYWAY.

I finally got the car to idle and got to operating temp and the CEL light came on along with the idle jumping from 1k to 1.5k rpm. Pulled the codes to find a P0505 and a P1400. I know the P0505 is an idle air control motor malfunction and the P1400 is a manifold absolute pressure differential sensor circuit blah blah blah. So checked everything on the P0505 and determined that it had to be the motor itself so picked a new one up and popped it in. Now all we have to do is reset the idle and clear the code. The p1400 is mainly what i have questions about.

Is it possible that the p0505 concern could be a cause for the p1400 code or do they not have any correlation to each other? If the p0505 code has no affect on the MDP sensor then i guess id be lookin at replacing the MDP sensor and go from there correct? BTW i need to get rid of these CEL's cause i still need to get this damn thing smogged :banghead:. Thanks for all your help

I have the exact same problem right now! The guy at advanced said the reason why i got the P0505 was because i had bad vacuum leaks, being how my gauge reads at -8 to -9 at idle. :hmm: Tomorrow i will be running to town to grab a new MDP sensor. From what I read the mdp sensor can effect your timing and fuel consumption. I also have bad bogging at higher rpms in boost. i'll keep you posted if there is any difference in performance! :D

yea, 505 is Idle Air control, i just got it the other day.. I dont think it would pull 1400 at the same time because mine didn't. But clear it anyway and see what happens. Also since you have a 95, I'm not sure if you'll have to worry about the cel. They should only care for it on 96+ cars for smog here in CA.
