I decided that since I am building my motor I might as well make it look nice and clean. To do this I am trying to give the engine bay a nice clean look and I plan on having some parts powder coated to match the color of my car.
I am going with polished aluminum, black, with hints of the color of my car on stuff like my wastegate, top of my bov if possible, and a couple other small parts what you guys think.
piping would be aluminum
hoses black
engine black
shaved vc color matched to my car
clear timing belt cover with powder coated gears
polished aluminum spark plug cover
and then all the mounts with be painted black or silver.
Does that seem clean or over done?

I think it would be clean, there is nothing wrong with having you're engine bay look nice, I.E. uniform, matching, colored.

And you're leaving you're piping aluminum, really all it sounds like you're doing is the VC, cam gears, motor, and the mounts..? Unless I mis read it, that does not sound the least "overdone".

If you have it will help you're motor looking cleaner longer, help the parts withstand the elements.

This might be a bit over done...

I didnt know that was your brother is that turbo sax's car. Ive been following his thread, ill be doing my engine bay to clean up again. this time the fuse box is removed, and a lot of wiring has been moved. The valve cover is always a nice thing to paint or coat.
