Hey, so My buddy is getting rid of a Neon (about mid 90s) and said i could take it and anything off of it I want. So I was wondering what stuff I could get off of it. I was thinking rims, for winter at least. I'm not sure what engine it has but I know it's DOHC and an automatic so proabably nothing useful there. what can I take off that thing and use on my 90 talon TSI?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that Neon and your DSM don't have much in common. I believe that the wheels are 4-lugs, so I don't think that will work for you either. Even if they are 5-lug, they won't fit your car because it will be a different bolt pattern. I'm not sure if anything else will work, but I don't think much can be used.

I honestly don't remember if they're 5 lug or anything. I know I need different rims/tires for winter though. I haven't seen the car in a few months at the least so I'll definitely have to check. Even if its a long shot for something to fit I'd like to try it, I can get it free.:thumb:

Some super cheapy early Neons came with 4 lug wheels, most came with 5 lug, which has a 5x100 pattern that will not match your 5x114.3 pattern. Not much will interchange between your car and that neon. If you had a 2gnt, different story.

They do if you have a 2gNT ROFL, if you know anyone that has one the throttle body from some auto neons will work and its 52mm vs the stock 49mm. But for a 1g i don't think there is anything good.

what neons weren't super cheap to begin with? haha. so since there's a 99.99% chance the rims wont fit I'm gonna be looking for some steelies or something to put winter tires on i guess.

take everything and scrap it
lots of reasons behind it, but in short I can't bring it home as a whole car

sell everything on neons.org and use that money to buy rims/tires. those guys are always needing stock parts.... just a thought.

you've got a mitsu engine in your talon. If you had a 2g non turbo the entire engine would work. Chrysler pimped themselves out. You could start getting engine parts, and sell them to a 2g nt guy though.
