Hi,I have a EU 2Ga N/T with a electric problem.

It started when hooked up a alarm.I wanted to flash the turn signals when I arm it,but that didn't worked out well ... :hmm: Ive wired it up on the hazzerd light and that burned my fuses. After replacing them my turn signal didn't worked, the headlight hight regulator stopped working as wel as the dashlight regulator ....

-I've bought a new dashlight regulator, but now it only turns the light on or off,I can't dim it anymore . Ideas ?
-I've bought a headlight hight regulator for in the dash, but they still won't work. The hight regulators in the headlight still work,i've tested them ... Ideas ?
-I've allso orderd a new turn signal relay thats mounted behind the radio. It was getting realy hot and smells like burned plastic, and 'ticked' very bad and even died ticking ... Think the new relay would solve the problem ?!

ps,this 3 things costed 450 dollar at the mitsu dealer here in Holland ....:ohdamn:

There is little hope of us being able to tell you what got fried when you wired it wrong. You will need to get a factory wiring diagram and test the wires individually until you find the wire(s) or circuits that are ruined. You might have damaged the circuits inside the turn signal stalk switch too if you actually tapped into the turn signals and not the marker lights.

Thanx for the reply
I've indeed tapped into the turn signals because the EU eclipsen do not have marker lights ...ROFL We allso have different backlights as well ...

Can U give me a pointer on the turn signal stalk switch ?!

I've pulled the turn signal relay out bacause it melted ...

The dealer didn't recognized it ....:ohdamn: Came up with a relay from a GS-T,witch is different ...

ps,is there a factory wiring diagram online from a EU 2Ga N/T ??!!

Well I know EU Eclipses have marker lights but we just call them by different names.

The turn signal switch that could be affected is inside the steering column and is not easy to replace but with a wiring diagram you could test it first before pulling it out to replace.

I have no idea where to find a diagram for an EU car.

Just as an FYI. The US domestic market 95-98 Eagle Talon has dedicated turn signals just like the EU Eclipses so that may be your best solution to finding a wiring diagram.

Ahhh !! The turn signal still worked for a couple of weeks before the relay melted completely :sneaky: ,so the switch inside the steering column has to work ...I think ..

Do U recognize the relay ? The dealer has a hard time finding out what is ....

It looks like the standard 3-pin turn signal blinker/hazard blinker that would come on any 95-98 Talon in the US.

With the US Eclipse, the turn signal and hazard blinkers share one large module. I don't know if that is true on the Talon or your EU Eclipse until I look it up. I can check tonight at home in my 2g Talon service manual.

I'll try to post back later today if I find anything new.

First, MAKE SURE YOU TEST YOUR WIRES!

Second, it sounds like you tapped the wrong output into your hazards signal wire. Is the light output on your alarm positive or negative, or can you move a jumper to make it either?

If it's positive, you should find a green/white wire in the driver's kick panel that will go to +12V when you turn on your parking lights (first click on the head light stalk). MAKE SURE TO TEST THE WIRES!

If it's negative, you should find a green/white wire in your steering column that will go to ground when you turn on your parking lights (first click on the head light stalk). MAKE SURE YOU TEST THE WIRES!

And in case you didn't catch it before... MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU TEST TEST TEST TEST YOUR WIRES.

As for determining what circuits you fried, you'll just have to pull anything you can from your dash board and bench test it to see if it's working properly. Make sure you take a look at the wiring under your dash and anywhere you tapped into. Look for scorched wires, that look like a marshmallow that's been in the fire too long, or wires that are completely bare of insulation.

Don't forget to test your wires.

Thanx for the advise !!
Allso got the electrical handbook of the EU 2Ga GS from the dealer, with the workplacehandbook on cd,so i will take a look this winter ....:thumb:

The light from the alarm now works on the normal lights (front/rear),witch is allso fine by me ..
