Timing is jumping around like crazy... sounds like its on 2 cylinders or something... Timing belt is starting to smoke LOL i cant see what its rubbing on.

The car is a 91 tsi here is the log. It happens more toward the middle of the log.

Your idle is all over the place. Try getting that straightened out and at cruise you are running real rich when you should be at stoich (14.7 AFR) while in closed loop.

Have you tried looking at the wiki on the DSM Link website to get you idle squared away?

Have you you touched your MAF comp settings or is that how it is set by default?
 
i know how to use dsmlink LOL i think im trying to tune a car with a broken wideband... look at my narrow band reading... I tryed to lean the car out to get to 14.7 but it gets so lean it shuts off and the wideband still reads 12.3... I started to richen it up but it still goes crazy when i get on it... If you look at the log when i got to 0vac/vaccum after that all hell breaks loose just look at timing and idle... even a/f ratio and my injectors go from 3.3% to 0.


EDIT: Yes i have played with the maf comp... im running e85 and i have it way lean on dsmlink... -20 global and -49 on the maf comp. I can post another log of me trying to get it to run richer if you want.

EDIT AGAIN: I have a 255walbro and 680 ASM Injectors... No clue on my fuel pressure... Shit afpr.
 
First find out what is causing the smoke. If an idler pulley is siezed the timing belt WILL break. Then move on to other issues.
 
Well i cant work on the car until tomorrow night and i was hoping someone could help me out...
 
its the belt rubbing... its not causing it to run like that. Im not worried about that right now. Ill get a new belt monday... Just trying to figure out if i left something unplugged when i dropped the engine back in.
 
ok well i figured some stuff out since i had some light... its the alternator smoking...
 
CHeck voltage at the battery, if your alternator is taking a dump the low voltage condition will effect injector function dramatically. Get your parts functioning as intended, including fuel pressure, then you can try and troubleshoot your fine tuning and driveability.
