Hello everyone I'm new to the import world. I have a lot of experience with American muscle. I'm a tech at the local GM dealership here in town. I've had all kinds of muscle cars and mud trucks over the years. One thing I haven't had yet is an import car. I'm looking for your input on which car I should buy. I have it narrowed done to 2 cars, the 1GB eagle talon tsi awd or an 3G acura integra gsr. I'm leaning toward the eagle but could use your help to tell me why I should get the talon. Thanks for your input.

Eagle Talon IS American Muscle.....Made in USA. Came out of Normal, Illinios. I'm not familiar with the Integra, but I will tell you, if you ride in an AWD 2.0L 4 cylinder DSM (such as the Talon, Eclipse, or Laser Turbo) that has around 300 horsepower to wheels: you will crap your pants at how stupid they are. Although they can be problematic, most people will admit to. They are unlike anything you'll ever experience when modded right. My friends freaked out and went speechless when driven in my car. And it's less then 300 horsepower, but spools quick......Not to mention AWD is a must on any modded turbo car. No offense to GS-T's, but AWD is sick :hellyeah: My 2 cents.

I'm pretty sure all the replies you get on a dsm forum are going to tell you to get the 1gb! :D hahaha Yeah so get it already. You won't be disappointed.

Oh you wanted reasons.
1. AWD launches (and traction altogether) 1.6-1.7 60ft on street tires. :rocks:
2. 450-500 hp capable stock motor.
3. Turbo, b/c boost is better than drugs!

The adrenaline you get from driving a boosted DSM (AWD is best) is better than any drug! Unless you like to do both, then I am sure that might be better. LOL :hellyeah:

all my friends had honduh's, acura's and after they took a ride in my car they bought dsm's
yeah they might break down now and then but thats what this forum is for!!!
maybe have a cheep honda for reliability and a dsm for a fast car
dsm for life!!!:rocks:

Like one 1glaser said your on the wrong site if you want to get the GSR, I don't think you would even be on THIS site asking if you were not leaning more towards the DSM. So let me give you a push in the right direction GET THE TALON YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! :hellyeah:

Will it comes down to n/a or turbo. I drove both cars cause my brother has one. To think his 01 gsr is sick because it's n/a with 1.8 liters. Doing damage to other cars with a bigger engine. Driving in town with my dsm sucks. Really, people may hate because their bias towards Hondas, or been whopped by them cause they lost to an n/a with less liters. But I rather drive his gsr in town. Long story.
I think you need to set your goals on what you want to do with the car. Since your v8s might not be turbo. The dsm is for you. But if you like reliability, gas, and what import n/a can do. Go with the potient gsr. Either way I think you can't go wrong. I think only people who have lived with both Cars can really help you in this thread. When you talk about Honda most of the members will be bias.

Sorry I have to Reinforce:

AWD is....... Well there are no words. It is what it is. Take a twin turbo Duramax diesel truck, for example, in 4WD, that is modded, chipped (whatever). Insane! I should know, I raced one, and we were dead-even. And he weighs double me. If you are into trucks get one of those! They are stupid too, torque to boot.......Only in 4 wheel drive are they fast (hook-up), when he was in 2WD it just smoked the tires forever....... AWD owns. I'll put it this way, when I see a certain car on the street, fast or whatever, I think, "well, to bad it's not AWD" and smile.......It's THAT important. Again, No Offense to 2WD cars/trucks.......But, experience a AWD launch and you'll know.

if you want a car to go buy groceries get that GSR ...
if you want a real tuners car... get that DSM...

good luck...

I have owned many Honda's and i am the proud owner of 2 DSM. DSM are like wife material u need to take care of them, spend time, love, fight, get mad at them, become broke b/c of them, but when things are good trust me they are real good it makes up for all those bad times. now Honda's are like booty call, its never as good as the wife but they sure are fun. so when the DSM is not giving you some make that booty call. so why don't you just get both.

ive owned hondas before and i thought they fast, once i rode in my friends talon tsi i had to get one LOL so now im a proud owner. get the dsm there worth it

Thanks for the input guys. It seems the big advantage is the awd. What I wonder about is the 1G talon has 195 hp stock while integra gsr has 160 hp stock n/a. It almost seems if you were to put the mods from a talon on the integra the integra would have more power. That's saying if the integra came with a turbo and other mods that the talon came with? Granted it would be cheaper to mod the talon ### a lot of the parts are there. So how can tell me why people prefer the 6 bolt vs the 7 bolt. I know the 6 bolt has strong rods but the 7 bolt has better combustion. The talon I'm looking at buying is a 92 with a 97 engine in it. Is it worth getting? My goal is to get around 400 hp. Would I be better off with the 6 bolt or 7 bolt? Things to ponder.

Keep looking bro. A dsm with a motor swap like that is a headache awaiting for you.

the 4G63 is the most powerful 4-cyl turbocharged engine in the united states.

acoording to some people and srt-4 has more power baseline

but seriously after being modded with a 4g63 you get more for your money

I died laughing on that one, thank you for that...:hellyeah:

AWD FTW!

i have a 97 civic that i daily drive and have a 95 talon in the midst as a project car and it has suited me quite well when the dsm is out of commission :thumb:

Definitely get the talon. You can easily make more horsepower with the talon than the integra. Lets just say hypothetically you put a $1,000 in mods into each car, i bet the talon would come close to doubling the hp of the integra. Plus the talon has awd, and idk if you have ever driven an awd car before but once you do you wont ever wanna drive anything else.

I had a 91 integra gs before i got my talon, the integra had a JGE head, dc sport headers, stage 1 cams, aem cold air intake, skunk2 intake manifold, aem cam gears, racing flywheel, and competition fuel rail. And i swear, the talon pulled harder STOCK with just a bolt on s16g turbo.

Talon = better choice.

No need for a honda..You gotta lock that POS everywhere cause people just love to take shit from them...Dsm all the way.:hellyeah:

I had a 97 civic ek hatch..and my shit got jacked just going to the movie's with my girl...I will never ever get honda agian..:nono:

i have had my talon for almost a year now. i have only gotten to drive it once because i have been working on it so much. last guy that owned it let it sit for 3 years. anyways, even from the one drive and the car being all stock, i think it has to be the best car i have driven. even stock it is pretty damn fast. i love it, and i won't get rid of it. it beats the hell out of the honda that i have.
