Dealer measured crank endplay, .0094", but no symptoms, what next?

Hey guys, well I got the dreaded phone call today (my car is at a Mitsu Dealer getting a lighter ACT2100 (for easier driving only) instead of existing ACT2600 clutch installed along with a new Streetlite Flywheel), and my trusted head Mitsu tech measured the crank endplay to be .0094". But I have no symptoms...yet....so what should I do? Would you take action as in changing bearings, etc, or just ignore it. The car has 90,000 Miles and has no symptoms, runs great. How long do I have, and does this definitely mean she's going downhill? Is there something that you'd do now that would arrest it before it causes problems?

I'm sure you know by now that .009 is the limit for thrust play. Personally, I'd just drive it until it takes out the crank sensor, then just toss in a 6bolt. If you were to measure everyone's thrust play on here that has a 7bolt I'm willing to bet almost all of them are close to out of spec, yet some of them go forever with no issues. Don't worry about it - just go enjoy your car until it finally quits. You could get quite a lot of life out of the engine yet.
 
I would consider a new trust bearing to get the most out of that engine until you can afford to rebuild it or dropping in a 6-bolt. But if you are tight on money you might get quite a few miles out of it before you have a problem that lighter clutch and flywheel will help.

Bearings are cheap and if you know how to do it yourself it might cost you 20 bucks. Otherwise I would just drive it and not worry.
 
If it's already made 90K, I'm with those who say to let it run. There's no telling how soon or if it will fail, but turbo motors are pretty used-up by 130~150, generally. Start saving for the next motor. Or, car.
 
Thanks again guys. The head Mitsu tech (been working on them since 1996) seems to agree on letting her run since it made it this far. He fears a new bearing now may cause inherent problems to surface. So at about what measurements do you generally start seeing symptoms such as the tick of doom, RPM drop when clutch pressed, or clutch pedal drop to floor on left turns occur? I plan to purchase a dial indicator off amazon, one with a magnetic base. And use it when changing oil to keep track of the endplay exactly as Defiant explains how to and described in a post i ran across while searching.

My car was measured out of spec when it had 50,000 on the odometer and now it has 111,000 and I have driven it hard with 20+ psi the whole time, dyno'd 306 AWHP and run several high 12 second passes.

Just run it! I'm finishing up my 6-bolt stroker build now so I don't have to put another timing belt on the 7-bolt.
