Christi's moving!

As I'm sure most of you central Texas guys know...the DSM scene is non-existent down here. So I've decided to relocate myself closer to the epicenter of my passion. Pennsylvania here I come!

This move has actually been almost 2 years in the making, things just really started falling into place about a month ago. Was offered a job in Monroeville (which I lost 2 days ago :ohdamn: ) so I found a house, a car, packed all my stuff and shipped it off. Hopefully this is the change that I've been needing so badly in my life.

I found a house outside of Monroeville with a really awesome roommate (who knows nothing about cars and has already recruited me to hunt down a vacuum leak somewhere in his 87 Buick) and I'm hoping everything goes somewhat smooth.

I leave Austin for the last time at 8:20am this Sunday. And around 2pm Eastern I'll be where I think I really belong (with the one I belong with ;) ). The DSM is going to have to stay here in Texas until I have the funds to have her shipped up north with me    But everything in good time.

Hope you Yanks are ready for a good ol' dose of Southern hottness!! I sure will miss you Texas!

Can't wait to see you, Jus. You know the anticipation is killing me. I miss you terribly. And this time we won't have to say "goodbye." PROMISE! xoxo

get ready for some snow driving.....bit different up here in the winter then down there! And yes dsm's are all over the place up here. Don't listen to jusmx..........bring your Cowboys jersey with you! And your Texas U apparel also and put the over-rated Penn State and Pitt fans to sleep!

Blasphemy!!!!!!!!!

sorry man, but it showed last year how over-rated PSU was when they got to the bowl game and had to play a decent team.........on that note im sure you will do good this weekend against the always tough.....akron team ROFLMAO. Sorry to jack the thread!!!

Damn I thought there was good info in this thread! Hoser.. we all knew you were moving I just hope you didnt find your roomate on craigslist hehe jk. I wish you the best sucks the job didnt work out though. Just make sure you and Jus get the dizzum up your way soon!

Please do not become a Steelers, Eagles, Giants, or Jets fan. Too many bandwaggon fans up here. GO DALLAS!!!!!!!!

Shame you're leaving a nice place to live and moving to a location saturated with Yankees.

Ask for a "sweet tea" and watch the confusion.

Ask for "BBQ" and watch the confusion. Actually, you'll be the confused one here.

<- Ready to move back to Austin.

The sweat tea thing is true. But after mc donalds started selling it I'm seeing more places have it! Just in case you are wondering, Texas Roadhouse is the best restaurant around. Check out Snail Speed Car Club. They are right where you are going and they seem like a bunch of good people. Plus the club pres has a sexy DSM. His name on tuners is dwdsm.

Texas Roadhouse makes me embarrassed as a Texan. :( We have 'em here too.

Mcdonalds sweet tea is 30x better in the south than it is up here man. I took my wife to visit South Carolina when I went back to see some friends and she couldnt believe her taste buds. I miss all the southern food for sure. Kinda sucks up here not having a jack in the box for like 1.5 hours away OR a chic-fil-a! sometimes I cry a little

The Texas Roadhouse up there...well let's just say we walked in, I saw a Moose on the wall, and I was not impressed. Haha, but I'm super excited! And unfortunately I'll probably become a Steelers fan. I have a way of soaking up the culture around me...and I'm sure Jus is gonna be shoving it down my throat every chance he gets.

But I'm super stoked guys! You have no idea! I just want to get it done and over with! And of course my dog, Sugar B chooses NOW to get sick...I don't have the funds to go get all the freakin' meds she needs so hopefully she'll be at least semi-ok until I can get there and find a cheap vet.

And agreed. They have no idea what sweet tea is up there. When I ask for sweet tea what I mean really is that I like a little tea with my sugar. Duhhhh! And I've already started schooling those Yanks up there on what REAL BBQ is. Here's a hint...add a shitload of beer to whatever you're cookin'. Instant Southern dish!

I still make my tea the old fashioned way. 2 tea bags, steeped in a pot of boiling water for 10 mins, then dump into a gallon pitcher, fill the rest with water...4 cups of sugar. :D

That's how I make mine, although I believe I'm more towards Wes' end with the sugar amount. I'll have to add more the next time I make it.

Oh, and this means you're A LOT closer to me, so I expect to see you and Justin (and anyone else from the Pittsburgh area).

yeah your gonna miss real football.

Your going to be stuck with Pitt, Penn state, OSU. I feel bad for you...

Luckily for her there is a very large Notre Dame following in Pa also! So she will have a team with some tradition to root for! On the up side also....with the exception of Texas...pennsylvania is the high school football king! Whole towns close down for friday night football! Remember tom cruise in the movie "all the right moves"? We have had quite a few national USA today ranked teams. Including the Berwick Bulldogs from Eastern Pa who where ranked #1 a couple times in USA today.

hmm speaking of bandwagon teams...

sorry i go to penn state and cant wait for the akron game tomorow! but I am an eagles fan and have to put up with a redskins roommate and a cowboys roommate and a rediculous amount of steelers fans... :ohdamn:

anyways welcome to pennsylvania blondechick it sucks you wont be able to bring your DSM up here but i have to leave my talon behind in york while up here at college so i kinda know what your going through

At least you all aren't down here in south central PA where everyone is a Ravens fan.LOL

Blondechik - I do hope everything works out during your move. As said, there is definately quite a big DSM scene here.

I guess when Pitt or Penn state wanna come down and play with the big boys such as Florida, Bama, Texas, LSU, Texas, and Choklahoma you wont see great talent hahaha

So. It's my third day in Pa...and it rains a lot here. I'm feeling a tad useless at the moment. No car. No job. But I'm trying not to let myself worry too much just yet.
Hopefully I'll be getting my car this week. I'm very interested in a 92 NA Talon that a friend of mine has but we'll see how that goes. I've been pretty adamant about my car NOT BEING AUTO. But having seen all the hills here in Pa...makes me think twice to say the least.

Somethings I've noticed about this state:

-Ya'll have absolutely no concept of sweet southern style tea.
-I have not, and will not ever call my drink a "Pop."
-I effing hate basements. They're creepy. That's where ghosts live.
-I love those little potato raviolis. They're lovely.
-There are 28,565,530,405,836 DSMS!!!!!!!!!
