I am going to remove my tcase and entire driveshaft.. Leave the LSD and rear axles... Is this ok?
I am sick of this car...

Whats wrong with it? I'd watch for the transmission lubricant coming out if your going to do it. Id say the rear end would be fine.

It has the worst vibration ive ever felt.. Only under load.. Rear has locked up on me 3 times... Axles are fine, i swapped out tcase 2 days ago.. Put it up on stands and it jumps right at the tcase.. everything else looks fine... Me and 2 actual mechanics looked at it and stumped, so I want to yank it all out... I am done with this car once I bandaid this..

my front axles go directly into my transmission.. There is an output shaft for the tcase.. How does the tcase have anything to do with the front wheels?

remove the tcase, driveshaft, and put in a drag spool in place of the VC and you'll be fine. Lots of fwd drag cars use the awd transmission with just this because the awd is more stout.

The VC is designed to put power to the front wheels and the rear through the transfer case. If you remove the Xcase then the VC is going to be burned up due to slipping.

I have had 2 ASE cert. mechanics (my buddies!:D) and we are all stumped.... It is just the wierdest thing. The spline count shouldn't matter for me. My old tcase i know has correct spline count, it was fine before. The newer one came with an AWD trans. Even if the newer is wrong, i had same issue with other one as well..

hmmmm. hard to say.
could be your driveshaft, check the carrier bearings.
make sure there is proper fluid in xfer and rear.
95/96 and 97-99 xfer cases are different from each other, you can go to JacksTransmissions to find out how to test it.

If you do make it FWD make sure you tell the buyer of the problem and how you took care of it, just if they want to tackel the problem when they take posession of it.

Im gunna get new tires for the back, see if that fixes it... I realize diameter of tire and revolutions may have a little to do with it.. It's just such a bad vibration, feels like more than tires...
