I would like to take a minute to thank Jason Miller and Maryland Internationl Raceway for their support in the quest "to get Wendy in the 10's". Jason has agreed to donate Wendy's entry fee and crew tickets for her family to the World Cup Finals. He has even agreed to send a few tickets for the shop.

He is supporting us, so please everyone that can, come out and support this event. I promise you that you will not be dissapointed.

..::# World Cup Finals (Import vs. Domestic)# @# Maryland Int'l Raceway ::..

I am also working on hotel accomodations for them on Saturday night.

I am honored to be a part of this.:thumb:

DAMN DAMN DAMN....

Best of luck to Wendy though, Im sure shes gonna kick ass!!!!

Hey guys and gals,

I wanted to post up a picture of Wendy's tatoo, this just shows her true passion and dedication to the sport. Sorry the picture quality is so poor, lighting stunk and she is not real cooperative right now. heh

Thank you for everything!

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

I've always said the DSM community is one of the tightest around and this goes to prove that. Like everyone else has already said, your entire family is in my prayers and I hope you obtain your goals. I can't wait to go to Etown to watch her run 10's :D Best of luck to you both.

I don't know if you guys have a link account but I have me and three others chipping in to get wendy a 4" fmic from ebay. We are ordering it and shipping it straight to wendy on weds. Anyone that wants to chip in and help out PM me and I will give you my paypal account. I will include a list of all the names of people that help with the IC to her and her family so they can see that there are people even though they might not have a lot that appreciate and are in her corner.

Sean ( Slippi84),

I cannot express enough gratitiude to you guys! The phone call was even more of a special touch. I thank you for that. I will let Wier know that it will be on its way to the shop Wednesday. Please get those names posted up ASAP. I would like each and everyone of you that have contributed to email me your mail address. I will be in contact with each and everyone of you!

Kiggly racing (kevin) is getting an automatic 1g tranny together for at least a core. He is also checking with some others to get a used Quife or torsion style limited slip.

Pictures will start being posted tomorrow as the build gets under way. So please stop in.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

I have no idea how i've missed this, but this is truely an awesome display of 2 people willing to fight through some very tuff things and yet still have time to do things for each other and the racing part of your woman is just that much extra "cool" (not to mention the display of the "power of the internet" )

Being some one that comes from a family where cancer kills more of us than any other cause, and having already been through one fight with it myself i can get a decent picture of what your lives must be like at the moment (I had melanoma that was caught early),I only went through 6 months chemo/radiation treatment and the hell that those drugs/treatments inflict on your body is just horrible (it was worse than the cancer in my situation) I can truely understand what you must be going through and to be keeping your heads up and moving forward on such a project is just great to see. How you 2 have the energy and spunk to keep all this juggling (along with jobs of some respect i'm sure as well) is amazing.. She gets a TON of respect from me due to that alone..i"m not sure about hers but mine stopped cell growth and made my lips and nose (and really any soft tissue) harden up, crack, bleed and then the mental stresses those meds throw on you make it one of the worst things i cna imagine dealing with (i would not wish it on an enemy) TO be honest I still don't have any energy since coming off the Timoxiphen (sp?) I mean it was alot worse while on the meds and the first few months of of them, but to this day i'm not the same person as far as activity, health, mindset Etc..etc...

It's so hard to talk to and support people you don't know so pardon me if my words aren't the most "hallmark" words in the thread, but there's so much i'm thinking of it's hard tosort through to the simple and required parts. I wasn't explaining my happenings with "C" to get sympathy but to convey that i can truely relate to what you 2 must be going through right now.

Well, I'm a shut my trap... My thoughts and prayers are with you two and your families. I wil make a paypal donation when i'm back to my home PC tonight, and if there's ANYTHING in the line of welding, fabrication or metal work just let me know (and although i don't have one to donate if you need any engine management help in the area of stand alone ECU's i'll do my best to help you with setup tuning etc..)... If there's anything you guys need built, modified or jsut whatever I can do just know that it won't cost you a red cent, just email or call me up and if it's within my means it's your's ( for the two of you) for free. I know there's probably a lot of local places you can get what ya need done, but it's really all i have to offer due to my own "situation" of sorts right now (about to loose the house i'm afraid ) Sending PM with my number and stuff, wishing you two the best. But I'm glad to see that honestly it sounds like you 2 are already making the very best of the very worst situation..which is why you get so much respect from me instantly... both of you must be some of the strongest people alive!

Please keep us updeated as you can get time to drop us a post.

Brad, my grandmother has been in the same postion as wendy. With the same cancer. They told her 5-6 months. She's now on year 2, she feels okay and still does her daily activities. I believe with the support of our community and the support of family; her remaining time here can only be better. I'm sorry to hear the word, but beautiful things happen and times will change. It brightens me to see you support her just as much as everybody else. It takes courage to do what you've done, and be strong for her. It inspires me and i'm sure other people, to be just as you; and that is to care about those who care about you. Good luck, i don't have much but if I do I will offer.

Sorry to hear about this. It is nice to see the whole community coming together to help out. I will be sending a donation to pay pal tomorrow after I stop at the bank. Best of luck with every thing and I hope every thing works out for the best

Donation sent, good luck Brad and Wendy.

I've added a link to this thread on Club DSM Canada.. I think people may have to register here to read this thread, which might discourage outside support. Maybe a mod can allow nonregistered users to access this thread? Just a thought.

Actually, this post is showing up as someone other than myself. I am a Canadian vendor, and I believe one of my customers logged on here on my computer, and it has saved his login info.

I have never posted here before, and am not a supporting vendor yet (though it IS in my plans). I can't think of a better first post than to offer my prayers for starters.

I would like to help out in some way to make this happen for what is obviously a very special person. If you don't get hold of a Quaiffe or similar LSD, I actually manufacture the "insert style" unit (similar to Phantom Grip). I would gladly contribute one of those to the cause...just say the word and where to ship it.....

Again, my families' prayers are with you...

Hi everyone,

Today is the start of Wendys chemo. I will keep you abreast of her day when we return this evening. Please keep the prayers coming. I have started a thread "Girlieracr4g63 build". The car has been picked up and been taken to Wier Automotive Racing. They are pulling the motor to freshen it up, new rods and piston. 9:1 comp. A new list will be comprised of what we could use to complete the build once they see everything and what its going to take. I thank you all for your support!!!:thumb:

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

Please tell her that she will be in my thoughts today.

My wishes and prayers go out to you and your family.

Best wishes,

Bill

Once I am able to get a few things sold I will be sending in my donation. Hopefully I can get them sold before you all get the project completed. I will also be planning on heading up to E-town to show my support. Good luck and best wishes.

You and your family have my best wishes. It wasn't much but I donated what I could. Now lets get that car in the tens!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to update each of you that have been praying and thinking of us. Today is her last day of chemo this week. She has had chemo the last 2 days and it has wiped her out completely. She is extremely sick and will loose her beautiful hair. She has accepted the fact of hair loss and says she will shave her head when it starts to fall out. Im thinking G.I. Jane.....Woot!!! As I told her, she will be just as beautiful with no hair as with hair. Please keep the prayers coming and I hope to be posting some build pics really soon.

Best wishes,
Brad Pate

I would just like to thank everyone for showing their true colors. Because people stepped up and chipped in I was able to send a Wendy a 24x12x4" fmic and a complete 2.5" beaded piping kit with 3ply couplers T bolt clamps and a bov to help make they're trip to 10's a little easier. Good luck to Wendy and Brade on most importantly life but also the build.

Here are the people that chipped in to help:
Sean Slippi-Mensah
Steven Strzempek
Allen Spurr
Christopher Drew
Adam Hensley
Joe Looper
Ean Kuhlmey
Paul Portuese

Thanks again to those guys and GOOD LUCK WENDY!!!

I am going to post this on KentuckyDSM.com and possibly try to bring some DSM from Kentucky to you when this happens, I have posted your Paypal on there too, or will when I finish this post if that is ok. I cannot say I have felt your pain before, but I am truly saddened from this. I am going to subscribe to this thread. We will, or try out hardest to be there, with some KyDSM pride.

My prayers and best of wishes go out to Wendy and family. God bless.
