First 12 here also, I was very happy with the event this year. I'm glad they opened back up the test and tune later on to give us newbs a chance. LOL

Congrats to you as well!

It seemed that even though the temps were high people were running good. I seen a few cars that had something similar to "Buschur Racing DSM Shootout bound... 13.6 or bust" than the 13.6 was crossed out and 13.2 was replaced or 13.5 and 12.9999 replaced it. Good track prep makes cars HOOK! Unfortunately as you seen all seen yesterday it breaks them to. If they dont break on the traffic surface they MOTOR on down it so thats good. :D

Again... a huge THANK YOU to all of you for coming out and supporting the event! It was a success and went to prove that Ohio is THE place to be in August if you own a DSM, an Evo or just want to see some of the fastest 4cylinders on the planet get down to business!

We already know the attendance was more than last year so this possibly could have been the largest SO to date. We will find it within the week once David meets with the track owner.

It also appears that everyone behaved this year, had no issues with police or broken stuff around town (or at least that we've heard of yet) so thank you all for that.

I did hear something though.... I heard something about a huge group of shootout attendee's chanting something at the Econolodge as there was a beer bong being filled and fed off of the roof to those below. ;) :dsm::talon::laser:

I did hear something though.... I heard something about a huge group of shootout attendee's chanting "F**K E-TOWN! F**K E-TOWN! F**K E-TOWN!" at the Econolodge as there was a beer bong being filled and fed off of the roof to those below. ;) :dsm::talon::laser:

Ha, yeah that started out with me holding the bong ### I was the biggest dude there. Still wasnt good enough, so we grabbed one of the little guys and put his ass on the roof. I have a good vid on my phone of the bonging. LOL Great times at the Econolodge.

New VFAQ- when you do your front stainless lines- do rear ones too- the old lines end up flexing and bursting, since the nice steel ones at the front no longer flex. The old rear brake lines were ok during our 100+mph trip up from Chicago. The line just went on that pass. My brakes went- and I took it out of gear and pulled the E-brake- car kept moving- then it started to move to the side (E-brake probably locked or one caliper seized out back) I won't say it is bad luck, because I am still alive. I am just glad the car wasn't running right on that pass, because, like people said, if it was running right, I probably wouldn't be alive to type this. I should've downshifted instead of just throwing it in neutral and pulling the E-Brake- could've, should've would've- didn't. I am thankful to GOD that I am alive, and thankful to Leon and all the other DSMers who braced the car to keep it from falling back down. The track staff, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, CAT scan/MRI people were all freaking awesome. OHIO is such a friendly place, and DSMers are such good people. Now I am just planning on how to bring her back to Chicago so I can decommission her and move all the salvagable parts to a new chassis- once again a phoenix will rise from the ashes

GOD is good. The ER and trauma docs, after an hour plus of scans and tests in rings and tubes and xray rooms, explained that they had no explaination how I am alive or not paralized. In fact, short of a cut on my tounge, I had no scratches on me. I said I have an explanation, GOD. The head Dr. agreed, saying that, in his medical opinion, it is a miracle. Once again, Mitsubishi cars and Mitsubishi enthusiasts have exhibited grace under extreme presssure. I cannot express in words how greatful I am that Leon (OG DSMer) and a couple of other racers ran over and braced my car.. it was explained to me later, that if it had rolled one more time, due to where my head was, my neck would have snapped. I am typing this from my laptop, which was in the car.. laptop, phone, camera- all found by track staff, paramedics, and other DSMers. All work. I need some follow up tests/visits with my doctor, but feel (physicall at least) fine. They say I will be sore once the stuff from the IV and the adrenaline wear off tomorrow, though.

Wow. A friend and I had to leave early to make it back to WI at a decent time so we left a little bit after your run. When we saw your nearly crushed car being lifted by what looked to be a tractor we were really concerned.

My friend said "Did he pull the e-brake after the brakes went out and rolled it?" - Now we know.

I'm glad to hear you weren't injured and that your DSM spirits remain high. ;)

That 10ft beer bong was fun. I was walking pretty intoxicated to the showdown trailer from the Best Western and heard the guy offering free beer bongs. How was I going to pass that up.

Are you the little skinny guy who crushed the beer and sprayed me?

Haha yeah I was also told to watch for a video on Youtube. :)

At least we know one thing is for sure... EVERYONE who came to Ohio has heart and love for the shootout!

Cant wait to see the vid. :hellyeah:

Hey man sorry to hear about all this, but I want to let you know. All Newer cars have a braking system setup so that if your FRONTS go out you will still have REARS and if your REARS go out you will still have fronts. HOWEVER at first the brake pedal will go RIGHT to the floor. So you need to PUMP it and PUMP it like 4 times and the brakes will come back eventually. You will ONLY have fronts but its better than NOTHING. I had this happen to me in my jeep once and I kept PUMPING the brake till it finally had some pedal pressure again.

I have a pic of your final. :D

Nice job taking home the win!

LOL the econolodge was the shit the guy who brought the BeerBong who is in my photobucket holding the beerbong I met up with him on track day and he was getting the lb of ice cream I asked him how he was doing he just said "#### MY LIFE" hahahaa great times great times ill be back every year from now on im hooked...

Hey Jrod, do you think there is anyway next year we can set up signs in the parking lot to designate specific areas for specific cars?

Like Evos in ROW A / Eclipse/Talon 2g's in ROW B / 1g's in row C and /mitsu powered car and misc in D

Then all the ford Rangers and bullshit cars can park in the back half of the lot! :rocks:
It would be an AWESOME sight to see alll thos badass cars in rows like that without some guys busted out Kia sitting in the middle of them!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly.... a great event! Bottom line. GREAT turnout.

A lot of hardwork goes into the event every year from people in the Wakeman community to all of us here at the shop to try to make it run as smoothly as possible. Then on Sunday the Summit Racing Motorsports Park crew is the best in the business. No doubt about it. A big thanks goes to the Bader Family and the entire group of quality professional track officials they bust their butt to make our event a success.

The shootout is more fun every year for me honestly because from the day after it ends I talk to more new people via PM, phone or email and when the event comes around next year I get the chance to put faces with the names.

As always it was great to see and spend time with my friends I see once maybe twice a year. Caleb Fetter, Chad Block, Curt Brown, Yusuf Begic, Mike Reichen, Dave Bruzewski, Mike from AWD and his crew, Big Al, Emery & Shawna from STM and their crew, Leon Reitman, Bruce Kwartler, Darryl Hudson just to name a few. Its always a great time to see old friends and meet new.

My highlight of the shootout weekend was seeing my good friend and customer Matt Smith from Winston-Salem North Carolina click off his first 9 second pass personally in his Evo that he's been trying to get for awhile now. Matt is one of the most stand up guys I have ever met in life or racing. Always a good attitude, always willing to help someone out with no questions asked and is a good sportsman & fellow racer. He's had some bad luck in the past and he never once gave up. Congrats Matt!

Im also very glad that big Keith was Ok. I spend some time every year talking to Keith after meeting him a few years ago here. One of the nicest guys you could spend time talking to. He got here late on Saturday afternoon and told me that he had some bad luck on the way here but as he told me "By the grace of god I'm here man and I couldnt be happier. Now I want to shower, eat and take it all in!". Im glad god was looking down on him yesterday afternoon as well. Cars can be replaced. Guys like Keith can not.

From all of us here at Buschur Racing thank you for your support of Buschur Racing and THE Largest Mitsubishi event/race on the planet! You all make the event what it was and what it will be! Thank you!

See you all next year!
Thanks JRod, I really appreciate it bro.

Yeah, I really should have downshifted as well instead of just pulling her out of gear... don't forget the importance of remaining clear minded and thinking three steps ahead... hopefully this tragedy can help someone else advert one.

I did pump it repeatedly, but the pedal stayed floored- that was when the E brake was deployed. I'm just happy to be alive :)

yeah that was me in the ken block shirt doing the beer bong :hellyeah:.... god i love the shoot out!!!!! oh yeah :tease: THANKS BADAS93TSI FOR THE VIDEO!!

I had a great time and met lots of awesome people....saw some hot chicks too hahaha !

I 100% agree with the parking lot organizing thing. I was so tired from walking back and forth trying to sift through all the shity family cars. I'm trying to see DSMs and EVO's damit

The shootout was the best time i have ever had and i cant wait for next year. will deff have a bada** 1g ready by then... and yes it was HOTTTTT

I have tried for the last 8 yrs to make it to a shootout. But being in the military kinda stopped it before, but not this year!!! I had a great time at the shootout. I am apart of the shop that had 2 cars in the finals, Strictly Modified, for Evo Eliminator and DSA. With our guy Chris Vance winning DSA!!!! Congrats to Chris and Mirjan for a great showing at the shootout! Thanks to Dave Buschur and his dedicated crew for a great event. Al from dynoflash, thanks for being cool as hell, when are you comin to shaumburg, illinois bro?

First of all, I had a great time! I had lots of fun this year staying at the campgrounds. I drove my car down there and home, making 10passes in between. I was in the white/black 2gb talon fwd without a headlight at the track... Fotowntalon, You did meet someone from the forums, me! I'm the one who took out your silencer, and I'm gald you did so well and had a good time:rocks:...
Last year I pulled off a 13.314 @ 114.31 mph, 2.104 60ft. (E85)
This year I improved to a 12.744 @ 120.52 mph, 2.266 60ft.(wheel hopOMG) (E85)
I had a great time and will be back next year for sure, chasing 11.999sec, I really hope next year the shootout is on a different date than the dream cruise, and the showdown is also not on either of those dates, because I would like to make it to all of them. :thumb:

To the dude that crashed, I'm glad you are ok, that was one hell of a tumble

one last thing mopardsm on the second page of ## pics that pos red talon is mine and the black 92 is my buddies

I commented back in the album before I saw this on here. I forgot to mention that if I have a pic of anyones' car that they want the full size image of (3000x2000 pixel or something like that) just let me know your e-mail and I'll send it over. I doubt it though, I was being lazy because of the heat :D

^^You wouldnt happen to have a full size shot of STM's evo would you?
