Maybe it was the lighter fluid LOL

Good time today guys! It was great to catch up with everyone and meet some new people! Im not used to DSM meets anymore since their so rare these days....Its rare to roll to a car meet and see so much nice work and knowledgable people... I may be biased though :)

See you guys next year!

I actually didnt leave until almost 8. JNF63, ebanks89, assault187 and his brother, mike, justin from JMF and another guy just sat around and talked for a while. It was awesome to get to talk to so many different people, meet new ones and reacquainte with guys from last year.

i was the other guy with nick and them.

I'm finally home. I had to stop and sleep for half an hour. I actually fell asleep while driving and woke up when I hit a pothole. I must have fallen asleep with my eyes open because I made it around a bend and was still perfectly in my lane behind a car.

I've now been up for 34 hours, with the exception of that nap.

I'm off to bed.

Sorry guys couldn't make it!! My transfer case started to puke gear oil out the rear seal:notgood:

Lots of cool cars, was glad I acually took the trip. Sucks I got there alittle late, but still was happy to see dsm's running. Sometimes I feel like there is few left LOL.

Im trying to take advantage of driving my car, it seems to be working well lately.:hellyeah:

and yet again im back home at like 4 something. I'm gonna be pissed as hell if someone wakes me up in the morning. i think i might actually start talkin on here now after meeting everyone.

Quote of the day right there!

I really wish we could do this kinda stuff more often! I dont think it would happen though, but just a thought. Car meets are cool, but DSM MEET's are cooler. :thumb:

I'm sorry I couldn't make it yesterday. I prepared everything to send with Matt but then Friday night he told me he wasn't going either. I had planned on coming and bringing everything but I hadn't planned on God taking a 19 year old family member last week. Spent the whole day at the funeral and with family.

One lesson learned yesterday....Life is not promised to us so please life life to the fullest and treat your family and friends as if today is your last day so that you don't die with any regrets.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and that everyone has safe trip to either the showdown or the shootout, I don't care which one you go to just make it to one of them!!!

To everyone going to the Showdown stop by and chat. Boost Boyz will be catering the BBQ at Turbo Trix on Saturday so stop and get you grub on. Proceeds will be donated back to the racers in a bounty for best reaction time in the bracket class and probobly another class.

This was an excellent meeting with many enthusiastic people.

The group pictures by Tom are great.

I'll attempt to post a bunch of pictures. My image creator seems to only allow uploading the pictures individually. So, sorry, this is a long post containing pictures. Coincidentally, I have a lot more pictures of individual cars.
Jim

We made it to Norwalk at about 11:30pm after leaving 2-2:30ish from the meet. Not one problem at all with the Laser allthough some interesting things happened during the trip. Some highlights from the drive:

-A rolling meet up with Wes (knochgoon24) on I-76 (literally) The conversation went a little something like this: Us- "Were at mile marker #59" Wes- "I'm rolling past 61" Us-"See you in a minute" LOL!

-Ending up on the wrong side of an electronically controlled Trazel Plaza gate trying to get some E85. The reason being that we were traveling East and only the Westbound station had the corn juice. We made some manuevers and ended up on this Plaza access road. Had to talk the guy behind the counter into letting us through the gate after explaining to him that we desperatly needed the juice. He was trying to tell us that we could put gasoline in our "flex fuel" vehicle. I had to set him straight explaining that we literally couldn't get to the pumps even if we could use gasoline and we didn't have a flex fuel vehicle. When I told him the car was a 92 Plymouth Laser his facial expression was priceless. "How did you guys do that?"

-Going through those tunnels in the Mountains and the burgh. Something about those things is too sweet! The sign reading "Remove your Sunglasses" was pretty funny

-The early model turbo supra we encountered. When all was said and done I held up my plate that reads "DSM PWR" ;)

-Sticking fruit candies to the front window and seeing how long they would stay without blowing off out of sheer boredom. One made it all the way home! Something like 7 hours.

-The E85 pump at Sheetz. This thing was pimped out to look like an ear of corn. At the time we were really tired and it had us cracking up with some goofy "thumbs up" pictures taken

-And another bonus was that we didn't have to pay to get off the PA pike into Ohio...I have no idea how this happened but it did. On the way in it seemed like we payed 4-5 tolls. On the way home, once. It was nuts! Bonus!

Had a great time at the meet. Was a hell of a haul but we got er done. Was nice to see some different cars and meet different people, ones I had been wanting to see/meet in person. Ebanks's crew had me cracking up the whole day. Had some good conversation with the Sax, gave Snowborder some grief at the grill. Checked out Slippi's setup. Met Jim in the ranger. Helped James carry some suprisingly heavy chicken... he said 12 pounds...I heard someone say 28 and I think that was more like it, the half I carried had to weigh 12 lbs! Nice James! Met a gentleman who was originally from the area where I live. "Big Brake 1g guy" sorry I missed your name. And after years got to put a face with the name blcknspo0ln. Crimsondragon seemed to be in a good mood. Suprise everybody! I'm pretty sure I saw him smile even! Nice meeting everybody and hanging out, it felt like family... family I actually wanted to be around. :)

Also, I had 3 of those hotdogs and I feel fine besides a killer headache. Must have an iron stomach. When I told Cyclone what all I ate on Saturday it was making him sick!

That's a long ass drive, I went to the shootout in '06 and couldn't imagine doing it round trip in one day!

My prayers go out to you, your family, and everyone else involved. It's a shame you couldn't make it out but things happen. Glad you were able to be with the family.

I was wearing one of the boost boyz shirts so at least people could point me out if needed and remember who i was after wards if needed LOL. The shirts are unique and always get commented on.

I picked up a '92 Laser awhile back in southwestern Ohio, about 9 hours each way with a truck and trailer. We drove it round trip with no stops except food, gas, and loading the car up. Never effing again!

It was great seeing everyone from last year and the improvements made on everyone's car also nice meeting the new faces and being able to put a face with a screen name, enjoyed it to the end by the way thanks for the 2 bags of bbc chips, soda's left in my cooler and also when I got home some one dropped a 4 mb sony memory stick in my cooler if its yours let me know and ill see if i can get it back to you thanks.
