Back in may I posted a video of my hx40 car going 11.1 @ 129mph with a stock intake, tb tranny ect...

the other day I attended rsds and Great lakes dragway with a few more goodies including a shep stage 3 trans.

The run down of me first time slip is
60'- 1.80
et- 11.10
mph-134.6!

Second time slip
60'-1.68
et-11.27
mph-128.3

The first run I had a shitty 60 foot and had ignition break up in 4th and still trapped a 134.6!
Second run my 60' was much better but it kept breaking up in 3rd and 4th pretty bad and still managed a 11.2 @ 128mph. I think if I would have got a clean run on the 2nd run it should have been 10's!

This is still on street tires, stock intake, stock tb 6 blade hx40 with .55 a/r bep housing and a race weight of about 3150lbs, boost about 34psi

The first race was a guy a know with a busa. I rolled out 5 cars and then took off. I only trapped 3 mph slower than he does on motor... there was no way he was going to catch me

Curiously, did you catch the GTO? It looked like it was a photo finish. Nice runs!!!!

134.6mph with 3150lb race weight! that's 600whp territory. That's nuts for 2.0L displacement with the stock intake manifold. I'll update my post of your results on the Holset Results Thread.

The win light turned out for him so nope. It was my buddy's goat with a 175 wet shot, plus it was breaking up badly in 3rd and 4th...

Thanks! That trap was also with 4th gear breaking up quite a bit so it might have been a little bit more... Hopefully ill go back to the track soon and get a clean run and hopefully a 10 second pass....

Congrats Kenny, wish I could have been there to see it. And you would have caught that GTO if you didn't give him such a big lead.

That is very impressive! 134 trap is unreal. Congrats!

Dont that just piss you off when you know you have a 10 sec trap speed and you have these quirky problems..grr typical dsm ehhh... awesome runs man ive learned with dsm go to the track and expect it to run like crap and she'll run like a badass out of hell and run a 10', expect it to run 10's when you get to the track and she will fail you every time hahahah.

huhhh around....i'm sure you already "know" what's been going on the last month but ya I probably won't be out much anymore, it's a messed up situation.

Other than that, just been tearing it up in Kenosha and working a lot lately. But I think it's time to lighten up your lady, . I can't wait till you get a better TB and IM and maybe a few other goodies....

actually I dont know whats going on at all... no one tells me anything! I would really like to see what she can do if she is lighter and when I finally go to a smim and see if I have enough fuel for a little bit more boost and see how she likes it. Before anything I am going to go to speed density.

Haha yea but all well. The second run would have been 10's for sure if it was a clean run.. Either way as long as I am happy with my trap speed that is what I really care about. 135mph trap should be good for maybe low 10's? I need some dr's or slicks and see what it can really do. Then that takes the fun out of driving the car to the track...

I agree that you should have a healthy consistant 10sec slip with this if you had better rubber and figure out what the he!! is going on with the breaking up issue. I for got that there's an hx51 with a 142mph and 10.01slip (1.56 60'). So you're number 6. But! still top notch. The 3rd in the 10s!!!! If you get back out there.

The breaking up issue is more of a hit and miss sorta thing...(still on stock ignition BTW) Most the time it wont do it. I am 8mph shy of a hx51 car with a bolt-on hx40 with a stock intake and not the lightest either? I think I'm not doing too bad.

Just curious how many people have gone 10's with a stock intake on street tires?

this makes me happpy i went with a hx40 on 2.3 build. you guys have been clicking off some nice times with great trap speeds.

You will be more than happy with your choice on a hx40. For the price there is no comparison. I bought mine barely used on ebay for 400 shipped, you can't beat that. They are extremely vocal and sound amazing! What turbine housing will you be using?

How much timing? c16? Congrats!

Your doing better than "not to bad" . I know there's very few who've seen a 10sec time with a stock intake manifold and street rubber. Keep plugging away.

I wonder why the stock ignition is breaking up. Isn't our ignition strong enough for much more cylinder pressure? Guys don't start thinking about ignition upgrading until they are in the low 9s or some rediculous number. So I don't think the spark is just blowing out. It sounds like something is loose or faulty.

Great numbers. Even though I'm only going with the HX35, I love to see what others are pulling off with stock motors and intake manifolds.

I gotta get off my ass and get my car track ready... I caught the bug last week and this makes me want to do it even more.
