A potential for a (relatively) cheap twin scroll setup with OEM parts?

I'm looking for some information and wanted to share a couple of ideas. It is possible that I'm missing something simple which makes this impossible but:

One of the big issues that we have had with wanting to run a twin scroll evo turbo has been that the turbo is reversed compared to ours which leads to issues with exhaust, intake, and IC pipe routing issues. Now someone was actually (planning) on using an evo style turbo anyway in a RWD conversion and I'm not sure how this project ended but it means at least someone has some experience with an evo manifold on a DSM head.

The evoX has a nice twin scroll turbo with great spool and lots of boost and someone on this forum has modified the evoX manifold to fit a DSM head so that the turbo could be used on our cars so the evoX turbo can be fit in the car well enough to get the job done with a little bit of work.

Finally I've just read that the evoX turbo uses the same manifold to turbo flange as the evo 8/9.

So why can't we use an 8/9 manifold with an X turbo and have a correctly facing twin scroll turbo with OEM (throwaway) parts? It seems to me like this might take some pipe wrangling but should work.

Lets have some comments to tell me what I'm missing.

If the demand goes up enough for these twin scroll turbos, then I foresee places like Punishment Racing making tubular manifolds with our head pattern and the 8/9/X turbine pattern. It would work wonders and look amazing compared to a rusted cast Evo throw away.

It would be amazing to see an OEM twin scroll setup off a evo
sub'd.

Just an idea, but why couldn't someone make adapters that go from a t4 twin scroll to a evo X turbo. then you would have a big selection of manifolds and have the option to either use an external wastegate or block it off with a flange. And if you ever would want to go bigger you would already have a t4 manifold. ;-)

You could but then the manifold would be quite expensive and why bother with an adapter when you can just get a T4 turbo since at this point they are generally as cheap as exoX turbos (though that may change).

But you realize the reason that guy was able to use the evox turbo is that mitsu switched the direction of the turbo back to the way a dsm's turbo goes.... so it works out if you can get a manifold to fit it. THAT was the hurdle was making the manifold.

That is what I mean, the X turbo is oriented the same way that our turbos are but that guy used an X manifold whereas I think the same thing could be done with an 8/9 manifold and have it fit out heads, I am assuming that the flange is symmetrical with a 180* turn.

You may not have a built motor trans or fuel to support the t4 turbo. but have plans in the future. this way you could buy the manifold and then use the evox turbo and have power under the curve (375-4?? whp) and enjoy it for a few years then decide to up grade the motor, turbo, tranny, clutch, fuel, and whatnot $$$ and go from there not wasting money on a manifold because it is for a t4 turbo.
