what did you do for the extra water line? or did you use a nt water pipe?

Its either go back to stock and get it checked, or pay a fine that will come in the mail. They prefer the fine because its "easy money" to get from us. Just make sure you read the ticket correctly. My a-hole cop put it as "non correctable" so I HAD to pay. I'm gonna write a blog on my experience so people know what to do when they get reffed. Good luck with yours man.

really you can just pay for the ref? how much was it?

Yeah you can pay it off. The amount I don't really remember. But it varies from area to area. Some are cheap as hell, some are expensive. You won't know until you get one ;):pROFL

Man this BLOWS. I hate when the government creates unnecessary laws.
Let us know what you ware going to do with it.

I had a question, but if you can remember, when did you hit full boost?

so what are you doing with the car?

So.... Do you CA guys just keep your stock parts laying around waiting for the day you get Reffed? If not, where do you guys come up with all the parts needed to pass? Curious.

Bingo. Stash it in your garage, or find a buddy with a garage and stash it there. When the time comes, pretty much everything bolts right up without a fuss.

Still working on that blog thing, part 1 is finished just not posted yet.

i keep all my stock parts, but my car came with turbo back exhaust so i need to pick up a stock 2g AWD set up LOL

Couldn't you just get parts that come with the carb legal sticker like GReddy parts and K&N stuff. I know it probably cost more but might be better in the long run.(get pulled, and show them your stuff is legal)

Wow... that sucks... I've made most of my mod purchases from selling my old stock parts.

You could, but it's never worth it. Any catback exhaust is legal as long as it is under a certain DB. And if you read the CARB rules, on a turbocharged vehicle replacement of the pipes is legal too. Just not adjustable BOV's (of ANY make), fuel/timing controllers, anything pre catalytic converters, and stuff like alcohol injection.

WOW, that sucks:notgood:. I guess living in CA isn't as good as people make it seem.

You realize a 50trim doesn't flow much more than an evo3 16g right?

but water injection is 100% legal

they dont have to know that its not all water your injecting!

Please explain?

Edit: for some reason I thought you said it doesn't flow as much as a E3 16g.

That's exactly what i said.. A 50trim doesn't flow much more than an evo3 16g. A 50trim has been shown to flow MAX around 50lbs a min. Most people never get that high, most get around 46lbs a min. I've seen evo3 16g's flow 44-45lbs a min easy.

How much does the courtesy letter say the fine is? Usually its ~$400-500+. I don't know what you do for a living, and how long it will take you, but if it's going to be a few days of work where you have to take time off, just pay the fine.

If you had a 95 you could've kept the EEPROM since we dont get tested for OBDII readiness. :p

Why did you get pulled over? Was their probable cause just because of the big fart can tip that most of us with modified DSMs have?

Not nearly as much as the import guys... and if it is older the I think its 1975 now, you can pretty much drive a full drag car down the street it you have license plates and registration tags on it.
