Well the interior was preaty much all there. The engine wouldn't start. And well, there where skrews in the roof, flag holders in the hatch, and the front bumper was skrewed, the middle back light was in the car, and a Haynes repair book.

If you look at my name, and look, "R.I.P 93' Mitsubishi", thats this car. Was just wondering what you guys thought this car would be good for. OH! Did I mention it was TOWED into my DAD'S body shop because it was ABONDON for a while, and sat in my dad's impound for, well..... October to April....... I was waiting for the title to be cleared or sighed over and my dad sold it.WTF :nono: OMG:mad: :banghead::barf::confused::sosad: I didn't even find out till a week after. It would have only cost $100 at the MAX for towing. And the impound fee would have had to be paid by the highway patrol because they called it in. So, say good bye to a PRISTEEN :dsm:. 1st gen too!!!! Manual by the way.

Hows that for a kick in the face?:ohdamn:

Am I missing something here? What's so "Pristeen" about it?

1. Didn't run
2. Screws in the roof
3. Flag holders on the hatch
4. Faded paint
5. Painted hubcaps

I've seen better looking cars in our local junkyards that would probably even run if put a battery in them. LOL

To it I say Goodbye? More like Good Riddance!!

Man, that thing is beat! If it ran you should of kept it as a DD but it doesn't so it is not worth working on just based on the body condition.

Love the screws in the roof and the painted hubcaps with the unpainted steelie underneath, that is custom work Homer Simpson would be proud of. All it needed was some "speed holes" in the hood and that baby would look smoking

Wow ive parted out and scrapped way nicer shells than that and they were all 4g63 cars

So harsh. Any death of a DSM, no metter what condition its in, is sad.
No matter what it looks like, runs or not, its still a DSM.
Better running and clean, than non running and beat, but thats what projects are for.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?
1998 Talon TSi AWD
112,000 miles (180,000 km)
660 injectors
Link G3 Standalone (he also has DSMlink with the car)
Evo Big 16g Turbo
intercooler
272/272 HKS cams
Magnus intake
255 Fuel pump
Fuel Regulator
Full Exhaust 3''
Gauges, AirFuel, Turbo timer
New Brakes
19 '' Rims and Tires (low mile/km)
Newly re-build transmission (1 year)

The BAD
The Engine is blown (he says that the connection rods are busted but I can't tell [I know almost nothing] since the car is too low)

The guy is asking $5,600 US ($6,500 CDN) If I bring one from the USA I would have to change a few things so the US price is closer to $4,750.

I figure that I could probably do an engine re-build: +$1,500

Well, it's pristeen because you don't see ANY 1g eclipses or talons or even Lasers in my area. To have a 1st gen DSM is like a gold mine I guess. I mean how many 1st gen DSMs do you see just sriving around nice? Not beaten........ IDK. The car was sold for probably no more than $200........... sad, never got to take it apart eather.....

Are you talking about the one in the pics ? I might have payed someone $200 to get that out of my yard

thats bad!!!! mine was sitting for 4 years i still bought it at least manual..turbo....and decent paint!!!plus AWD

Well, let's get serious. That car wasn't going anywhere high-performance wise anyways. Unless you did a engine swap. The engine didn't look all that bad from the pics, unless there were a lot of cut wires and/or harnesses. As long as the tranny looked decent, and the tires were still holding air, for $200? That's not that bad of a deal. The body did look rough, though. If you knew someone that did paint & body work that would cut you a deal, then it's doable. Same with the engine stuff. If you got a good mechanic on your side (and he's reasonable), then you're in good shape. Put it this way, the car didn't look unsalvageable... provided you've got some cash to put in it to clean it up. At least for a DD, anyways. It really depends on how far you wanna go with it.

Oh well, it's a moot point now.

EEEEEWWW... that cars better days are long gone... Its sad to see a car in that condition but its time to let that one die peacefully

One of my buddies has a 96 GS that could definitely use some work. He's askin 800 dollars and it comes with some 17 inch chrome rims and stockers. Plus an extra motor.... Should i buy it and use it as a parts car for my talon? or should i use it as my guinea pig and start my first build from the ground up?

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Seth

I would pick it up and see how much it needs to be fixed. If too much then part it out and keep the pieces you want..

I thought I could always do that in the end but it still drives alright the body is the only thing in rough shape. I'd like to try out a turbo setup and that way if i do screw up hardcore then i could always just put the other motor in it and then just get rid of it...

I don't know!!! LOL

If you got it for like $100, I would just part it out. There is no sense in fixing that thing up. I thought it wouldn't take much to fix up my '90 AWD that I got for only $400 but its turning out to be a real pain in the ass.

I have always been interested in DSMs and I am looking to buy real soon. There are two DSMs in my area I found for sale, please take a look and let me know if their asking prices are fair. Both are modded quite a bit. Thanks in advance!

Eagle Talon TSI

and

'96 Talon TSi / Eclipse GST - 600HP Capable Car!

I am leaning towards the first car because I like the looks of it more. All opinions appreciated!

offer a bit less for the first one maybe like 5k AT MOST!!(its an EBAY LOVERS car). and HELL NO to the second one, its worse than the first one!

if it were me i would keep waiting around for some better cars.

the first one is a bit steep on price, if you can get it below 6k i dont think its too bad of a deal.

i know the owner of the first car, and i know that it is not beaten on.. Great car
