working at a machineshop- priceless for everything else there's mastercard

the water pump went out so the car over heated so im pretty sure teh head is junk, i have two spare heads sitting at work. the car has 137,xxx miles so i figured ill just freshen up the bottom end for now (stock rods, 2g pistons, alc race bearings, arp everythign, and rehone the block if it doesnt need to be bored) i dont plan on actually building the motor for awhile, the head will have bs springs and retainers, si valves, mild p+p, and stock cams once i just need to get it back on the road running. once i save some more money ill be getting hks 272s. the turbo was ordered today should be here next week

O man, you just had to post a parts price list! Makes me think of the thousands upon thousands I have spent on mine..

Owell its my hobby, and my Toy..

here are some pics of a head i got for dirt cheap, blew a head gasket but with the head gasket ill be running head will work just fine :). got pics of the head all cleaned up just need to get them on my computer they're at work still

I like the heart shaped tin that you keep your bolts in :) j/k
If you think you probably left of $1000 worth of things you probably left of 2 or 3k
But hell I love my money pit (at least for the few months out of the year that it actually runs)

haha i plan on keeping it running this time :)... and yeah i didnt know what to put all the lifters and oily bolts in then i found a heart shapped tin

here are soem pics of the head being cleaned and new clutch

so i havent been on here lately, ill post pics up later of how the car looks now, but i havent bought really any more parts besides for the turbo, head is off the car now, but the car is most likely going to be sold as a shell due to im about to get a 92 tsi awd shell and finish my build in that :)

when you start buying all the stuff i recomend keeping the receipts but dont look at them, dont add them up, it will just make you sick. also, consider finding a lot of that in the classifieds, you can save a ton of money doing that, i did anyways

yeah i know, ive got alot of parts almost everythign on the gst besides for a fuel pump from the classifieds, but i picked up the 92 talon tsi awd today :) ill post pics once the sun comes up and i can get some

here are some pics of the car its dirty right now and needs two windows

updated, pulled the block apart today and as i was doing it i grabbed the crank and it had at least .5" of in and out play, took it out and the thrust bearings were shot so were a few main bearings, but yet teh car ran fine? the oil pick up screen had a few long stands of bearing stuck in it so now i need to find a new block
