Don't get me wrong I'd LOVE to get a divided tubular manifold. I just can't find one in my budget range. I'd still need to get the o2 housing made and figure out the wastegate. I really don't have the $$ to spend on another Synapse wastegate. Like I said I'm kicking the idea around. If its not gonna work too well then I might as well keep the stuff I have now and run it. Always been a holset fan

maybe you would be okay to keep what you have, and start saving your pennies... maybe 6 months from now you would have enough for that upgrade... and it would be well worth the wait. :D

i love holsets too!:hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah:

thats why i have a badazz frieking holset build moving along.:sneaky: can't wait for it to get done, so i can drive it... and so i can be different... and prove what these things can REALLYy do! i am shooting for mid 10's on wide street tires with my hx35 7 blade...:rocks: if i go faster AWESOME, i think i could after i upgrade the drivetrain and throw on some hoosiers) if i get in the 10's i will be happy. and it isnt even being built as a drag car.. but i expect it to put out some unreal results.:rocks::rocks:

I'll be sporting some 17x8.5" Rotas with 245 series Nitto 555Rs. I plan on low 10s and hopefully with some more seat time a 9.9999999 with the spray.

If you want to go non-divided manifold, id sugguest finding a 12cm housing. 18.5cm is going to be quite laggy. My wh1c with 12cm housing was spooling around 3700-3800rpm though. I dont know if anybody has ran a h1c with the 18.5cm housing with a non-divided manifold, but id guess spool would be around 4700rpm.

If you dont care about lag, why not jump up to a h1e or hx40?

sweet man! that is with the hx40? and fp you have in your couple posts up right?

i don't have much seat time either. i was hoping to be going low 10's but since i am not much of a drag racer i dunno how well i will do. i just wanna run it on the .25 to show people what a holset can do with a good setup when it is built for roadracing/ and autocross. LOL. i plan on running some 245's also.. maybe maybe 255's...

in all honesty i like to stay a bit humble LOL... i really think i will get low to mid 10's on motor an turbo alone with my weaksauce driving and my tires. no spray. but, i will be happy to get mid to high 10's until i learn how to drive it better. the setup i plan to run is badazz:rocks:. i need to start my build thread. LOL... just waiting for a couple more key parts to come in before i start throwing stuff on. maybe end of this month i will start it. i just have a billion parts laying around, waiting for my time to free up and a few KEY parts to come in.. LOL.

still saving for my custom top mount manifold, one of the last key parts. changed my mind on going bottom mount last second and the top mount cost a few bones extra... so i gotta keep saving for that. when i get my tax return back.. it is going straight to that! =) plus, i still need to sell my magnus race to fund my Driven Innnovations SMIM. (another key part) :hellyeah:

it is all about time and money. and i have a shitton of money in this thing. now i just to get a ton of time to throw it together. and finish stripping everything off the chassis. i am mainly waiting to sell all my parts before i start building because that means more money, and it also means my garage will have more room for the car!:sneaky: i think i will wait until i install my new coilovers and sell the old ones to actually start. Coilovers are on the way!:hellyeah::hellyeah:

im effin stoked for you to be finishing soon! good to see you have some good goals for yourself also! good luck finishing up your build! keep an eye out when my holset build thread pops up! hopefully sometime real soon! i think you would really like it!:D:D

I currently have a 12cm housing up for grabs if you do end up going that route real cheap!:D. i am gonna be buying a nice / different new TS 12cm housing.:)

Yep, its with a bolt HX40. I plan to push the turbo atleast into the mid 30psi range with a 100shot on e85. :thumb:

I've got a built bottom end, FP4rs, JMF drag, and a few other surprises. Can't wait to show the LS1 guys what fast is. :sneaky:

Thats what it is all about!!:sneaky: sweet... if i were you i would be in the 35-40psi range also, if your motor can take it why not do it right? and a 100shot huh... that should be fun.!!:hellyeah:

i am gonna be running the corn juice at 35psi-ish:sneaky:.. but i plan to see that boost right around 3000rpms... :hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah: it is gonna be fun tuning with the aem ems also... luckily i am practically related to sumone who owns a performance, tuning, custom fab shop. he runs his own roadrace/autocross/ and drift team..:D he said he would tune it perfect for me and teach me all the ins and outs of it... so i could tinker with it too. pretty excited!

i would like to see your setup when it is all done. and even moreso want to see how it runs!:rocks::rocks:

LOL, yea it should be a blast. I over built the motor to take whatever I can dish out. I've been taking lots of pictures. Maybe I'll start a build blog for it after she's running.

Im now considering using the bep bolt on housing since I do have the FP Race Mani and PR o2 setup. Would the hx35 housing fit my H1C?

ok how many of you guys had to tap the oil inlet? I had to tap it to an M12x1.25 for my oil inlet, but i'm worried about any possible shavings that may have gotten into the CHRA, I tried my best to blow oil threw it and air but its got me worried.

would anyone recommend cranking it over for a few turns with the oil drain removed?

should fit the h1c, unless you had some oddball turbine with different specs.

here is a pic of my hx40 setup that i have been working on, T3 V-band BEP housing, SLS manifold, billet 7-blade 60mm hx40, should help my pump gas goal of 450whp

Guys i have a HX35 bolton and I am getting compressor surge for some reason in the 3k t0 3700rpm range it just started but it is really messing up my tune, any suggestions?

Quick question, Does anyone know where to get a replacement Snap-ring for the Holset HX-40? I have had an issue with this turbo previously with sealing where the compressor cover meets the CHRA and is sealed with the large snap-ring. I found it one day threw a boost leak test and ever since I have simply used a small bead of copper RTV gasket maker on the mating surfaces before the snap-ring is set in place to seal it up. I recently had the turbo apart and the snap-ring was warped, I must have over looked this before, but I think this is the reason the turbo was leaking. Any ideas where I can find a replacement new?

I dont know a specific shop that sells only that but this shops has a ton of holset turbos so they might have one for purchase? Cant hurt to shoot them an email.

Something is definatly up with your setup. You're a little laggy compared to most hx35setups, not too bad though. And guys with the stock manifolds and stock cams on a 2.0L motor don't surge an hx35. Besides it has anti surge porting that really rids nearly every compressor wheel of surge; wheels that flow much more than the hx35 compressor.

Is your BOV properly modified? I've had a crushed one "bounce", flutter open and close, after 25psi. And I've had a turbo bounce a little in boost when it's about to blow :( . You have no boost leaks, correct?

I PM'ed you back with some details about what I think is going on with you. 460whp at 25psi is quite impressive for a bolton hx35 and a 264/272 combination.

Turbine housings are in at The Turbo Trader. Most of them have been spoken for already, but there maybe a small handful left.

I would call on monday and get your order in if you want one.

I know this isn't a for sale thread or anything but I have a bunch of stuff left over from my holset endeavors.

compressor housing for 60mm wheel
-10 oil pan fitting
-10 pushlok hose
-10 poshlok fittings
-4 oil feed with FP Red Restrictor in the middle
-4 fitting that threads right into the CHRA
Oil Filter Housing fitting that converts to -4

Anyone need any of this? PM me offers. :)
