Some of you have been following our dragster build on here recently. There are a couple other threads of its progress in the lounge here.
We finally made it to the track for the first time yesterday.
The first pass was 22 PSI, just rolling into the throttle for first gear to see how the car behaves. Remember, this vehicle has been built 100% from scratch and had never moved at more than about 5 MPH prior to this run.
Everything looked great on the first pass so we turned the boost up to 30 PSI and decided to make a full pass. Unfortunately, our converter is too tight so we only had 2-3 PSI on the starting line. It took until about 300 ft down track to get any boost and make any power. Keep that in mind when you look at the time and MPH, we wasted about 300 ft of the track waiting for the car to spool. We knew that was going to be an issue but we just wanted to get it out since we've spent so long building it. We're pulling the converter now to have it loosened up.
