hi i just got a 2g maf that i wanna put on my 1g. i know i need a safc and to hotwire it. but heres my questions, car is stock except accell 8mm wires. 90 gsx awd 5speed
(1)will i need bigger injectors?
(2)will stock fuel pump be fine for now?

if theres anything i missed please let me know thanks

An safc will be ok, you'll just max out your stock injectors faster. An old jimmy-rigg trick is to install the 2gmaf along with 550 injectors. It's not perfect but it gets the ecu pretty close to normal levels and the car will run ok. Lots of ppl have done it (myself included) and lots of ppl are strongly against it.

2g mas with 550's right here:hellyeah:
Car loves it.
My o2 sensor does not.
Thank god for the 1 year warranty:rolleyes:...
The car is daily driven as well:thumb:

As far as stock injectors go I would just wait until you get some 550's or chip to install the maf.

wait do you mean since the maf makes it leaner bigger injectors will even it out pretty close without a safc for the time being? is there any chance of damaging anything?

Well here is my theory....granted its my lame ass brain doin the thinking here but here goes. I have been through 2 brand new boschs since the install about 3 weeks ago. On the logger the 02 sensor shows next to nothing volts at idle and part throttle....some of the time...some other times it will bounce around as it should...then sometimes while just crusing along i will feel the car start "dragging" ....look at the logger---- .00volts....I think that the car is running rich until in boost and the o2 sensor is trying to compensate way too much and it is thereby ruining the sensor...or I just have terible luck with the sensors im getting

Yes, in theory with all things created equal the 2g maf with 550's get the tune pretty close....in theory....every car is different but my car as stated loves it....16psi on 14b. All the mods in my profile and the injectors are at 65-70% duty cycle so there is room to grow but im waiting on my chip

thanks i'll definately try it once i pick up a new alt. now with a chip do you mean a keydiver or something?

Yes sir...keydiver stage 3 chip is the way to go on a lightly and even heavily modded car. I have seen his chips work great on some very fast dsm's.

Scoping out an eprom ecu for mine....budget is holding me tight to just getting these free o2 sensors for right now:shhh:

The dsmchip will give you a nice base tune. The safc will be useful for fine adjustments. You will need to get a logger(palm) and download mmcd(free)

Read the website and it will answer all the questions....with a little more research on the site as well you would see that many people running a keydiver setup dont even bother to touch there afc's...my buddy is close to 400 horse mark on the chip alone and thats with e-85 compensation as well! no knock and the car runs like stock.

Yup my car runs great with the keydiver chip. For the money its one of the best things ive bought for my car.

Or, instead of buying a SAFC you could just buy a Moates Ostrich or Burner and program the ECU yourself with TunerPro.

But, if you go with a SAFC you can get the tune close enough.
