Ok, so i just recieved my new gt35r turbo in the mail today so I thought I would start my build thread.
The head is mostly stock except for brian crower stage 2 regrind cams(not sure if they are 264 or not).
The block has forged wiseco 7.8:1 pistons, Eagle rods, balanced crank, arp head studs, cometic head gasket,
exhaust has an obx tubular t3 manifold, 3"downpipe , 2.5" exhaust, magnaflow muffler.
Turboxs manual boost controller, cobalt boost gauge.
act2600 clutch.
Now for the parts I know i need, I'm going with atleast 750cc injectors and a walbro 190 or the 255 with fpr. And something to monitor it with. I'm hoping for a 350-400 awhp car.
Please feel free to post any comments or advice you may have. Thanks for viewing.

So please let me know if I can get away with just a 190 pump to reach my goal or not. So I dont need to buy a fpr. I know most will say just go with a 255 anyway but like I said im only hopin for 350-400.

With a 35 kit you should be shooting for like 500awhp on pump gas, and 600+ on race gas. So you are way overkill on the turbo, and you are going to have a lot of lag for no reason. I would get rid of the 35 and switch to a FP Green.

Yes I know its capable of alot more, I just got a smoking deal for this turbo it has never been used. Paid less for it than they would go for used. The engine that I bought for this car dyno'd 512hp with the same turbo on it so its built to handle it. I just don't know if that kinda power would make for a good streetable car.

Ok cool, and yes LOL I will want more boost once I get used to it. I know the efficiency range of this turbo is alot higher but I figured I could run it fairly easilly to get to 400hp.

It's a tial 38mm wastegate with I believe an 11psi spring

oh and there is a guy at a local shop selling 880cc injectors, top feed high impedance. would those work or should I stay with low impedance.

ok thanks, i will keep my eye out for some used 1000cc or bigger. so if I threw the injectors, pump and fpr on the car with no maft or dsmlink. would it run bad without any way to monitor it? Just because after my next pay I will have enough for the fuel parts. but no engine management etc. so could I run it at no more than 20psi till I get the electronic parts installed.

I recommend a larger wastegate since you are not going to be running a lot of boost. You need a wideband fo sho. Go with at least a walbro 255, larger injectors. 500 hp is not bad for a street car. It's certainly manageable. If I were you I would buy ECMlink before anything else

so what is the part that I need to manage the fuel? im new to the whole dsm scene so if I could get the name instead of the acronym that would be great LOL. Only reason I ask is because im hopin to have the car driveable by the 24th of april there is a car show im looking to have it ready for.

Or just suck it up and turn up the boost from the get go ;)

There will be a good bit of lag on the 35r so most of the time if you're driving around town, you won't be in boost unless you really get on it.

Definitely. This should be purchased with your management choice.

ok so could i just got with a maft with 3"gm maf to run it? I'm not sure if I have an eprom ecu either. its a 92 with a 6 bolt if that helps

There is a label on the top of the ECU (not the sides). If this label has an "E" in the lower right-hand corner, you have an EPROM. If it has an "M" or "T" in that corner, you do not have an EPROM.

ok since im new to this i have another dumb question. If i bought the ecmlink, could I install that and just run the gt35r will very low boost until I get my fuel parts. I know its not going to have good spooling and what not. only reason I ask is ### my ebay.50 trim is blown/seals gone.

LOL its how I bought the car. so the 3" exhaust is definately on the list. but not before I get the engine/fuel parts.

well you would have to run low low boost and I am not sure if a 38mm wastegate is going to like that. As long as you are not knocking or running it lean it should be ok, I myself would just wait until you get everything you need.

One thing I can say is don"t get in a rush and start skipping out on things. Just take your time and buy good quality parts and make sure they are the parts you need. Hell my car has been down almost 2 years.

Look at my dyno numbers. That is on my stock bottom end (175k mile) Evo III 16g build. I haven't even tuned it and I'm making 326whp. With just a little bit more tweaking, I should see 350whp pump.

You definitely do not need a GT35R for your goals.
