I have a couple of general questions I was wondering if you could answer.
I would like to have a coil on plug setup. How do I do this? Do all coil wires go into one and plug into where? Any good brands that you recommend? Do I need any other starting mods to make this work.

Also,
I’m getting a DSMlink with in a couple of weeks. I do not have the GM MAF, can I still vent to the atmosphere with only the DSMlink? I was planning on getting a Tial 50mm, but if I’m not able to vent then I would just do the DG mod. Im planning on running 30-40psi with the new set up. Thanks :thumb:

Search: cop All you'll need to know about CoP setups.

The only way to vent without dropping metered air is to have a MAF after the BoV, which you can't do with the stock MAF. So no, you can't. Searching would have gotten you the answers, vs having to start a new post for a question asked hundreds of times.

If you can't answer these questions, you have no business attempting to run "30-40psi with the new set up".

Go to VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions and read everything on that site. Then, come back here and read the whole tech section.

Also, what is your reasoning behind getting a COP setup besides "I want it"?

Hey, don't be a douche. I am asking these questions to know so maybe one day I can run 30-40 psi on my new set up. Thanks for the help I guess.

Unforunately, he is correct though. You can't expect to run 30-40 psi without doing your research first and knowing some of these basic things. He may have come across as a douche, but if you are running a setup for 30-40 psi, you shouldn't be asking those questions. A simple search/doing research would have gotten your answer. Any question you could probably ask, has already been asked and answered on this site.

I thought the new V3 allows you to use a GM MAF and Vent to Atmosphere without the GM MAF translator ?
He specifically asked about not having a GM-MAF, nothing about the translator.

Well, until you've bought a stand alone EMS that allows you to control each coil individually you will actually lose spark energy and IF you get to 35 - 40psi you will have to go back to the stock setup with an MSD box on it to keep from blowing spark out. The reasons behind this are all in the threads people have told you to search.

lonewolf was only being blunt and honest with what he said. COP is only for looks until you get a computer that can spark each coil seperately, other than that you are splitting your charge energy between 2 coils instead of one coil with 2 posts, this gives each coil less energy and there fore your car's spark would blow out and you'd be missing like crazy trying to run "30 - 40 pounds of boost"

Although this is the newbie section a lot of people get tired of seeing the same post ove3r and over again by 5 different people each week. If you spend a few hours here and there searching on this forum you will find so much information people will start calling you the DSM guru, but until then you need to study and use the hell out of the search function on here. I can promise you that if you do and then you don't find what you're looking for people will be quite a bit more helpfull. But when these posts pop up daily when there's one 8 posts down asking the same thing it's like going on a road trip with your kids and having them ask "are we there yet?" every 5 minutes

Call it whatever you want but he put out an honest answer and asked you a legit question about your reasoning behind wanting it to start with.

If I came off as blunt, it is because that was my intention--to perhaps get you to run a quick search and find all the answers you need instead of waiting to be catered to. These are not questions you go in asking if you are preparing to run up to 40psi on what I assume is a no bars full race build costing thousands in the engine alone.

As for the COP setup, I didn't expound upon why it is a silly idea, but thankfully you have Turboglenn who took pity on you and gave you the info before you even attempted to use the search button.

You'll do fine here, just have your eyes upon and seriously spend time read read reading the tech sections.
