My father and I took the dragster to the dyno yesterday for some initial tuning. If you're not familiar with the project, please refer to this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/hangout/325817-4g63-dragster.html
The dyno session went absolutely awesome. We've had a lot of support from AEM during the whole process and it proved to be priceless come dyno time. I wired the car per all of Devin at AEM's suggestions and used all his recommended components and things went great. The Hamm Machine engine performed flawless even with us leaning into it on the dyno and no miles. All the other bits we got from Extreme PSI performed equally as impressive.
Now on with the results:
We were dynoing PSI Motorsports in Pottstown, PA on their 2WD Mustang Dyno (Great guys by the way, thanks a TON Frank!). The dyno numbers are all through a GM automatic transmission and while spinning massive 33" tall slicks. Oh, and the car is geared for 210 MPH in high gear.
We started at 18 PSI and did some mild pulls. The car couldn't even push up to the converter on that power level. We then began turning it up slowly. The car has a lot more boost and a lot more RPM available to us but now it's time to get our feet wet with getting it down the track.
Now the part you guys all want to see, the video. I have to give some more thanks to Matt for taking the video. He's just a random guy local to the dyno who loves taking video of cool cars. Great job Matt!
