i just recently put on a fmic kit and a new bov on my 95 gsx. it was an ebay kit and i custom did all the hard piping and everything. it looks good. when im at partial boost, half throttle, the car starts to sputter and jump violently! what could be the problem? also, when it blows of it goes chhhhhhhhh chhhhhhh chhhhh chhh. LOL. i guess thats how u would explain the noise. do i need to loosen the bov adjustment screw? thanks for your help! if this helps, i also have an intake and did the bcs restrictor removal mod. :dsm:

If the BOV is vented, you should set it up to recirculate. Then see what happens.

Get rid of that Ebay Crap, and get a good bov, like HKS,Tial or Greddy one ;) .if you don't have a gm maf setup, only Greddy bov from my list would work.Tial and HKS are not recirculated....

But if you want to fix the prob temporary, try to loose the nut on a bov,if its to tight, that why its fluttering....

Thanks every1. yea its atmospheric as of right now. im trying to get a hose long enough but stiff enough like the stock one. i got a hose but it doesnt bend too well. im gonna take a heat gun to it and see if i can bend it. the bov i have is a greddy type rs knock off, and i bought the actual recirc kit for the real greddy and it fit perfect. looks good and sounds good but im having this little problem.

i have the recirculation tube capped off so unmetered air doesnt get in. so i still need to recirculate it? ill do it and let u know.

idk what chhhhh chhhh chh ch means but is that a flutter? i have a greddy type rs and it flutters under higher boost. so that mite be it, knock offs might just sound like a knock off

thats chhhh chhhh chhc hchch sound might sound cool and all but its a bad sound, your turbo wont last very long, you should loosen your bov, reason your turbo wont last long is because the amount of pressure that is getting left in the pipe is triing to spool the turbo backwards, you need the diaphram to stay open long enough to relieve most of the pressure in the intake pipe, but still be tight enough to not leak, and if your not running some kind of stand alone you need to recirculate your bov back into the intake, if you dont your car is going to continue to sputter, run pig rich, and just eventually fail.

Stop using the knock off Greddy BOV. Forget spending big bucks on useless flashy BOVs as well. Buy a 1g stock BOV and purchase the Dejon Tool Leak stop mod for it. It will hold up to 30psi and is perfect for anything but the craziest applications. Kiggly's drag car used to run 2 1g BOVs with this mod in tandem (for more airflow) and it was running 9 second quarter miles.

Also, run a boost leak test as the sputtering you've described can be attributed to that as well.
