So are you saying you've already had it looked at and know what the problem is? And you just want to know our opinions about whether or not you should fix it or sell it?

1. I'd say you need to learn proper English, it makes your thread easier to read and understand. That way more people would respond with answers instead of wasted posts telling you how crappy your grammar is.

2. Depends on what shop you go to for the fix, but figure just to pull and replace your transmission would ball-park between $250 and $400+. Then you're asking them to do something else (fix it), so parts and additional labor...$800 could be a ball-park estimate.

3. Whether you fix the car or not, that's your call. However, if you buy a car in need of repair, expect to have repair bills along with it.

4. If you want the bill to be cheaper, learn how to do your own work. That way you're only paying for parts.

yes thats what im saying i need to rebuild the transmission or buy a used transmission.
the problem that i have with the transmission the only problem is when i shift into 5 gear the gear pops out i have to hold it in 5ft to keep going so i think its a bad synchro.
so to buy a transmission its like $ 800 bucks, also the engine is burning oil i see blue smoke all the times out of the exhaust all the times and to fix that it will be like $ 800 bucks more i guess.
so to fix the car i have to spend like 1600 or more..
so i want to know your opinions about whether or not you should fix it or sell it?
or what can i do

My car was burning blue smoke also from sitting for 2 years. I was down because i was thinking it was the piston rings. Found out it was a little ring inside my turbo. Pulled it out (super easy) rebuilt it (super easy and cheap) put it back in (also easy) and no more blue smoke. Also got to clean my engine up some with all that out of the way. Something to look into (i forgot to look if ## car even has turbo.) the ring in mine just felt like plastic and had to chip it out.


dang it..it is N/T sorry =(. maybe new shifter bushings?

The only reason I would buy a car that had problems is because I know I can fix them.

As for the transmission, I doubt its a shifter bushing or it would pop out in other gears as well. For the engine, there is something wrong because burning oil is either valve stems or piston rings.

i had the exact same problem, and it cost me 800bux for parts and labor for someone to fix it here in pa. 5gear casing was cracked, had to replace all the stuff in it, are u leaking tranny fluid yet?

no the tranny is not leaking

Have you done a compression test yet? A compression test might hint if you have bad rings. Otherwise your valve seals are probably done for like mine were. Put some heavier oil in it, when it's HOT HOT summer outside I run 15W-40 Rotella T with half a quart of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.
