I though the avitar looked cute.. I wouldn't mind having my avitar looking like the movie Cars...

I think I'm going to try it this weekend and post up so you can see it on a 1G...Is there any trick to re-alligning the hatch putting it back on?

Why is my avitar under attack? Its a picture of my eclipse an talon. Yes I did think it was kool, an so do the people sending me pm's askin me to put "cars" eyes on there car.

The hatch idea was just a thought I had, wanted to know if any one has done it thats all. Like my idea to strap a 18ft canoe on top of my eclipse. (see my gallery)

If they would let you id say do it at the track and see if it affects your time good or bad...

The closest track to me is Maryland international race way, and I have seen them turn down doorless jeeps, top down convertables even a open top shelby cobra.


And by under attack I was kidding about defiant's comment. Glad you all like it tho. Got to admit it adds character to the cars.

A Convertible is different structure than a coupe body.

It's not going to affect any time it's a low pressure pocket that your exhaust fumes will go into when your driving forward.

A bunch of fail in my book.

Maybe I won't drive anywhere, maybe I'll just do a photo op, and put it back on.

lLright I did it...I took the hatch off of my talon to show you how it looks on a 1G. It's not what I expected at all..

kinda looks the same just missing the spoiler i think it would look nicer on the 2g because they dont have a multi-piece spoiler.

and there is nothing wrong with making your avatar look like its from cars, ive had mine that way for a couple years now.

That only applies to the high rise turbo spoiler. The lower spoiler (like mine) has 3 pieces.

A Jeep is considered a convertible at the track. It is a huge surprise to me that convertibles are also considered to be convertibles so they also aren't allowed to run or depending on the track break certain speeds.

I think that there is no real reason that you can't run at the track but it is going to depend on the rules for tech inspection.

As for running on the street without the hatch I would imagine that you'll run into some extra flex in the back. My spyder has massive crossing rear strut/structural bars. If you put in a rear strut tower bar I doubt you would notice much handling difference with the hatch off.

I can't believe this is actually a thread. If I saw this going down the street I wouldn't think oh cool. I'd be more likely to think that person has no money and their car is a turd. No offense, but I think there are better things to do with your time.

I had to drive my 98 home from walmart one night with the hatch open cause I had just bought a tv and the hatch wouldnt close. The exhaust that got pulled in from that just about choked out me and my gf. Just sayin.

I have to reply and say this was only done to take pictures. The hatch is still off, but the car isn't going anywhere like that...I take that back, the car isn't moving anytime soon at all..
