Locate a normal HX40 compressor housing

That thing is stupid huge for some reason

How do you plan to route your water pump inlet? That thing looks like it is sitting way back on the block.

An easy thing to do to get it further out would be to mill the head side of the exhaust manifold with like a 5* more upward angle. That would put it out plenty far enough to probably run the stock water pipe if you wanted to.

Not certain yet. I'll probably work on it tomorrow with the engine that's on the stand so I'm not bending over so much. I do like the idea of milling at an angle. My friend has access to an entire machine shop so that is a viable option.

Ezz-e, we talked on the link forums in your thread. This is the wh1c correct? They come stock with a 12cm^2 turbine housing and the same comrpessor as the 8blade hx35 with the same turbine wheel, of course.

Yea its the h1c but it has a 21cm t3 housing with a divided manifold. if i have problems with spooling it then ill use some n2o to spool it up.

Its been awile but i got my whole turbo setup going. Here are some pics!

This setup is on a awd 4g63 95 civic, it has stock 6 bolt motor.
ARP head bolts
780cc injectors
socket ecu with chip
maft
afc neo
msd fuel pump
stock honda fuel lines
n2o wet kit 55 to 75 shot
extra fuel pump for n2o

I got my BEP mitsu housing today, few things that make me wonder, 2 of the 6 bolt threads go all the way through the exhaust flow walls! :hmm: I don't know if this is suppost to happen, can anyone say the same? And I wonder if this will effect preformace.

Also the flapper seems to open up more when the arm is against the housing and not away from it with the little amount of play it has, might have to washer it againt the housing so it opens up the maximum amount.

One quick question guy's i accidently bought the wrong "Oil Feed Line" kit this one runs from the "Oil Filter Housing" to the turbo. Is this going to be to much oil pressure w/ out the restrictor?

Very similar setup me and you have. Looks like a 2.0 or 2.3 block, with a ERL manifold and hx40 turbo?

That looks great, nice and clean. Which raises the question, are you going to rewire everything with new wire? :hellyeah: Or are you going to put the old wiring back in?
Hey, are those stainless steel studs on the exhaust manifold to head?

Gary

LOL yea every one around here jus remembers the car and totally forgets that im the one that built it.

As soon as i start tuning i will report back with the spool times on that huge housing with out n2o. But my main plan is to make 400hp on the car with some spray in it.

The actuator is what will limit the opening on the flapper. So I would not worry about it.

Well I follow the TECh artical and know mr. peepers. He made a arm for my 14b that was creeping, and the arm can screw around to make it longer and shorter, opening the gate all the way to 90 degrees with playing with the diaphram too. But Since they don't creep witha 38mm gate I guess I will just bolt it up.

i just bought a holset hx 40 6 blade :) ill be running the bep bolt on housing. what mas can i use? i have a 2g mas but i know after like 50lb/min ill over run it. With the holset ill be running 15 psi to start with

You might look into the Evo 8-9 MAS, it reads airflow accurately up to ~60lbs/min. They also wire in just like a 2G MAS, albeit with a different plastic connector. You can find them on ebay for pretty cheap.

The only drawback is that the sensor has a different sensitivity to airflow (different hertz curve per aiflow) than either a 1G or 2G DSM MAS, and it needs to be dialed in through additional tuning.

Thanks man, how your car comming? Come buy my fuel cell already! LOL So i can buy a smaller one.

It's going. My paint guy is dragging his ass but he has a lift and 100 gallon compressor SOOOOO I kinda been like take your time with the paint and been doing stuff that I wouldn't want to be doing out in the cold on my back haha. Especially since I have a lsd 5 spd bolt rear on the way I'm gonna run with and if it breaks I"m going mustang rear. I will try and come by weds pay day because I want to see the car anyway. PM me your number I lost it and I'll hit you up.

Clearance issues eh? Damn not good to know, it looks like we have the same turbo. I was planning on running some kind of cast manifold with a EWG flange. Meh

The spacer plate is your friend! I used a 1/2 spacer from RRE with longer studs and had ZERO clearance issues with the compressor housing, block, and water pipe. Granted it only left with with about 1/4" clearance it worked well. Pictures can be found in the results thread.
