I know its another noob question, but currently i have a manual boost controller, 1g bov/flange, and a new k&n fipk. Planning on walbro 255 lph fuel pump/afpr , boost guage, and a 3.5 inch exhaust next week. Also some cleanup ( Intercooler and throttle plate. )

What would it be safe to turn my boost upto with the mods i listed?

I was planning on going with 15 - 17. I've heard different things about the stock turbo maxing at 15 or 17. Any problems with running at 17 since i plan on switching to a TD05H 20g within the next month or 2 once i get all supporting mods done?

what would be the most i could pull from the turbo safely?

:ohdamn: you need a logger!!!!! You can do the same amount of tuning for less money using a logger vs. a wideband. Plus no more wondering what your sensor sar doing or $80 ecu plugin visits at the dealer. What year 2g do you have?

its a 95 with an eprom, planning on going with dsmlink, so i dont need the wideband then?

yeah you will still need a wideband. Link will read narrow band. Wideband will be a big tool in helping you tune your vehicle.

Since you're getting dsmlink, it includes a logger.

You do not need a wideband. If you get dsmlink you can tune for zero timing retard. That will be about where your best a/f ratio will be with a stock 2g timing map. Tune for a certain target A/F ratio in link, no wideband neccesary. You will be within a point of target with a stock maf. Using pumpgas, you can achieve more power from boost and rich fuel and low timing than the other way around anyway.

I'm not discouraging the use of a wideband. . . I'm jsut stating that you don't need one for a good tune.

The first thing that should be done is make sure all maintenance is current. It does no good to have go-fast parts on a car that sits in the driveway.

Then listen to what Matt is trying to say....get a logger (and a real boost gauge), they're inexpensive and will let you know what's going on with the engine. After that, you can start to up the boost a bit and then add those parts you're jonesen' for.

The logger will be a lot cheaper than DSMLink which you won't really need until you get the injectors.
