So as I was noticing last night the wires that connect to the ECU will need to be shortened the way I routed it. The only ones that will need to be expanded are the A/c, alternator, a/c fan wires among two other wires that I can't think of at this moment.

Alright that sounds good are you just soldering more wire together to lengthen the wires to reach the engine bay? Thanks for the help! So what all can i get rid off? I pretty much am only keeping heat and the components needed to run the engine! Can dsm link handle this or should i get aem ems?
You can get rid of pretty much anything you don't need, I.E air conditioner and fan, Power steering, etc. and as far as the ecu question I'm not quite as familiar to the dsmlink as the AEM ecu. I'm using the AEM for this project. But There's a lot of people that use the dsmlink. I've heard great things about it:thumb:.

So what all will i need to lengthen to make the car run? Ya i was leaning more towards the aem then i was the dsm link. So all the wires going to the ecu will have to be shortened? Im also keeping my headlights and what not considering ill be using my car as a DD. So whatever i can get rid of im going to be doing away with!

Yeah it sounds like your going to do the exact same thing as I'm doing, only i want the air conditoner just in case i get a little hot. Lengthen wires are basically the alternator wires and the compenents around that specific area. theres a lot of wires that will ne to be shortened.

Here's some pics of where I made the cut. It's a 2 inch hole:

I just placed the wires through the hole to see how long the wires are inside the engine.

Thats a really good spot to place the harness i like that. I think that im going to be doing coil-on-plug so that will help alot i think. You going to rewrap the harness? I think im going to use that stuff from Jegs its the Flexbraid wire cover. You using power steering or got a manual rack?

Oh yeah I'm going to untangle the wires and wrap the wires with that flexbraid wire cover as well. I am loooking for a manual rack to place in instead of my power steer one, but if not i will be using the power steering rack.

Ya i think that flexbraid material is great. Makes things look so much cleaner. Ya im also going to be using a manual rack! Im going to strip the whole car down and get it media blasted then im going to have it painted and undercoated.

Yeah I will be doing that once I get these wires neatly tucked and all. Post some pics up when you get a chance.

Ya i havent even started yet im still waiting for the delivery of the car and i am paying on it on friday so ya. Im not going to tuck the wires until i get it painted and what not but i will drill and fill all the unneeded holes in the firewall

My brother will be taking care of all that body type of work. thats what he specializes in "Auto body" and paint. And I stick with the auto repair/ engine work. As soon as I get updates I will post pics/ new info up.

While on the subject of manual racks; will a manual rack from a 1g work in a 2g? And what 2g cars came with manual racks, if any, because I want to get one for my spyder. I'm guessing if any had manual racks then it was an RS?

Im not to sure if 2g's even came with manual racks. Ya i specialize in auto body myself and am trying to learn everything possible when it comes to auto repair and electrical!

As of right now, no one has figured out how to put a manual rack in a 2g.

I just placed the wires through the hole to see how long the wires are inside the engine.

I would suggest putting something around the edge of the hole so it doesn't cut into the wires.

I like the idea of putting fuses there, gives me something to consider. Looking foward to seeing it finished.

there is a relay box by the brake master cylinder/booster, and if you remove the a/c you can remove that whole relay box in the corner because its all a/c related. Also they make brackets to locate your alternator to the rear where the a/c compressor was "for more room for BIG turbo's", but i think that would clean up the engine some more and make it look more spacious.

I would recommend going to some 2g/chrysler quick connect injector clips. You can also tuck the harness down and behind the fuel rail and run just the injector clip wires up and plug them in. Eliminate cruise control if you have it and where the throttle cable comes through the firewall make the loop under the intake manifold to hide that. That will be a good start and you will see some other things you can do once you get moving.

im doing a full tuck and shave on my 93 talon.. its not that hard just takes alot of time..

Mine is done aswell. I just ran the main harness on top of the subframe, only had to extend a few wires.

ok so in a couple of days... or maybe tonight depending on the weather i will be preforming my very first wire tuck. i will be going to do the all common injector tuck, then maybe move some of the sensors if i feel gutsy. i am not sure if i will end up moving sensors around but its worth looking into. i have lloked through all the wire tuck threads i can find and sorry for making another one but i hate how it looks.:banghead:

also how hard is it to relocate your battery to the rear??? i plan on making a custom battery box and a custom filler plate so that i can mount my battery where the spare tire should go( seeings how the car never came with one  )

i was also looking into getting a new IM like a nice sheet metal one but if i do that what happens with all the vacum lines?? that stuff really confuses me ... ya i know im a total NOoB LOL

Its a lot of work but in most case the finnaly project looks great. Just be sure to label every thing as you go, and take little steps. Iam curently working on relocating my battery under the front bumber and out of sight.

I kinda got a lil carried away rewiring / tucking my talon.
