So after two days of getting everything right to hook up my new fmic, I am coming from my moms house where I installed everything to my dads house (where I live) which are about 4 miles apart. In this install I hooked up a fmic where all of the piping came with it other than the j-pipe that I welded to custom fit. The intercooler I installed was the VrSpeed short route fmic that I did a group buy from this site. Other than the intercooler I installed a new short ram intake with the recirc nipple because my other didn't have one and I swapped my HKS SSQV and put in a greddy type rs. Note: The flange on the ic piping was not the exactly the same so I had to drill 2 new holes on it to fit the greddy which what I was supposed to do. Anyways, I get in my car and start it up and everything was fine. I put it in reverse out of the driveway, and up the road I went. I was checking to see if everything was all go so I stepped on it a bit to check out the boost and my new bov when all of the sudden my car spudded and started running funny. I tried to speed up and my engine was shaking and not running correctly. It would rev(I didn't try to rev the whole way because I didn't want to further hurt was was already done) but once I started revving the shaking just got worse. I got out and popped the hood and everything seemed connected alright so now I am lost. It is 1:35 in the morning here so I really couldn't take a good look at it. I did check however the MAF to make sure it was plugged in, the softness/hardness setting of my bov, and just tried to make sure everything was pugged in. Any suggestions pleaseee I would help a lot. I am lost!!!

Definetally check your MAF. This sounds like the exact way a motor will act when the MAF is left unplugged. Believe me, I know from experience. I've done the same thing.

If that doesn't help go ahead and start with a boost leak test.

Okay well where does the other side of the MAF hook up to? Not the side that hooks into the intake but the other side? And would a boost leak lead something as extreme as what I am experiencing?

Well if the one side of the MAF is hooked up to the sensor then the rest of the wires run into the engine harness.

As for the boost leak it depends on how serious of a leak your talking. It could be a possibility.

As RedTalon95 suggested, check for a blown off coupler.

So you guys don't believe it has anything to do with my engine from the way it sounds? Just a boost leak or something not hooked up right, is that correct?

Yeah it was running flawlessly before I put the new FMIC, Intake, and BOV on.

sound like a boost leak. one of the couplers has ###### come off. my car has done the same thing. once because of the coupler and once cause i didnt install throttle body gasket correctly all due to boost leak. do a boost leak check.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guy. Just jacked up my car and what do you know the coupler from my j-pipe to my ic piping fell off. going to fix it now. I'll let you know how it goes.

I will do that soon. Just need to get my car up and running right now.

And another problem. Jacked my car up, fixed the problem and got into my car to start it up a little later. Next problem: I turned the ignition, it started up for a second and shut off. After that I tried to start it up again and it was having trouble turning over. I checked my batter voltage on my turbo timer and it was very low. So I got my car jumped which made the voltage at about 13.3 and it was turning over fine. My car just wasn't turning on. Like I wasn't getting fuel. Earlier in the day it was starting up so I don't know what the problem is.

Check the plug on the maf. Also this is gunna sound stupid but make sure your battery isnt touching your hood. I say this because I see this a lot. Also make sure you are using T-bolt clamps otherwise you will just continue to have coupler problems.

The MAF is plugged in. It's turning over it just will not start. How do I check if it is getting any fuel?

well take a spark plug out and crank to see if fuel is coming out(the fuel should mist out of the cylinder or just look in) or just take the fuel rail out, and while you have the spark plug out check to see if spark is there...

So that will tell me if I am getting fuel if it sprays out?

Its probably not the most effective way to check it but just unbolt your fuel supply to your fuel rail and have a buddy turn the car over to see if fuel is pumping through the lines. The fuel supply is on the passenger side of the fuel rail. Two 10mm bolts, make sure to lube up the o-ring when you put it back in the fuel rail.

MAKE SURE TO DISABLE THE IGNITION SYSTEM! I had a huge fire because of this before. Just pull the plug wires off of the coil pack.

So I am getting fuel and everything. Still not starting though. Any other suggestions. Need to get my car up and running asap. Is it possible that it is not running because it is not in tune with the new FMIC, BOV and intake?

Just take the fuel rail out. Man! I can't imagine somebody telling me to take the fuel rail out to verify
that my engine is getting fuel. That makes absolutely no sense. Look if you are going to give somebody
advice at least say something useful.
There is an established set of things you must do in a no start scenario.
If you are convinced all four plugs are firing with a good spark and the fuel injectors are providing fuel,
the next step is to check base timing. Then compression.

Yes I am getting spark. What fuses could I check that may have blown that could possibly restrict my engine from starting?
