My buddies 2g wont start after a kid touched the pos. terminal off the strut bar. Its got fuel and spark, and we've checked all the fuses and changed the alternator, also its got a 98 auto gsx ecu in it (which was swapped AFTER that happened), and it turns over, but just wont start...Anyone got any ideas? PLEASE i'll take anyones .02 cents. Thanks in advance!

Compresion check, timing check. Check the mas connector, its kinda close to the battery so maybe that was jiggled loose. Also, check for codes.

I realise its probably electrical but its good to get the basics out of the way real quick since it only takes 15 mins.

Check all the fuses and fuable links ( i'm not sure where the fusable links are on a 2g as i've never had an issue with one) Hopefully Defiant will pop in on this one,, He's got a brain like the encyclopedia Britanica ( yes the book set LOL )

I'm sure he could tell you what link is where... but forget compression and the sorts... it's electrical if the batery shorting caused it and it ran fine before that touched.... gotta be a fuse or a fried battery

hopefully it is something easier than the ecu... always gotta remove the cables, dammit, sh*t sucks sometimes...

Well, if it's the ECU i have one i just pulled out of my car yesterday. It's been unhooked for 8 years now due to having a stand alone, but we tried it in my friends 97 talonh today and it fired right up. Any reasonable offer won't be refused. The ecu has less than 30k miles on it as i got the car as a lease termination with 24k and had a stand alone in by 30k

Not trying to post a classified here mods so please don't take it that way. I was going to throw it on craigs list and ebay tomorrow, but if you want it i'll hold off. I'd rather see a tuners member get it than some joe blow that i have no connection with what so ever (unles he pays a LOT LOL )

PM me if that's what it comes down to. and of course, "no refunds on electrical items" just as anyone else would have. But i have 2 witnesses that saw it start and run and drive the 2gb talon of my buddies

BEing that it's a 97 i'm sure it's a NON eprom ECU, but i've heard that the ECMlink V3 can be made to use a with a modded non-eprom unit (not sure how true that is.. i picked it up from a post on here)

But first check all you fusable links, fuses relays etc, etc...

Yeah guys, its a different ecu which worked in my gsx so It should be good. (if not i'll let you know turboglenn, thanks I appreaciate it) The battery has been checked at auto zone and turned out fine. Anyone know where these fusible links are? like the ignition one? If it was that wouldnt the car NOT turn over or have spark? Because its got both but i'll check it if someone can pin point where it is. Anyone else have any ideas? Like I said the car ran before this happened. Thanks guys!
-Defiant, where you at on this one man? LOL

Anyone got a pic of where all the fusible links are besides the ones under the hood?

oh yeah guys, I was just searching and didnt see a ignition fusible link for our cars, people were only talking about ignition fuse under the hood and I checked all underhood fuses and there good. Is there really a fusible link elsewhere? Also the guys that had there ignition fuse blow say their cars wont get any power or turn over, mine does... Please guys I need help

Is your car manual ? I don't think an auto ecu would do you good on fixing the problem, you should try swapping in a manual ecu, the nagain i could be wrong as i never have tried this fix.
