Ok i was told that its getting harder to get one of these housing for the hx35. Im looking to put this turbo on my dsm eventually. I just wanted to know if they still make them. Ive done a lot of research on this turbo, and seems to be best bang for the buck. But i know i could still use the turbo using a t3/t4 exhaust manifold. But i was also told that i would get more lag due to the exhaust housing that comes on these turbos.

So any info would be good. I hope they still do make them.

Bullseye has none left you can get the t3 .70 a/r housing at theturbotrader.com, I just ordered one for my hx40. You have to call tho, they do have them in stock.

I emailed Bullseye Power not too long ago about the bolt on Holset housing. They emailed back promptly and said they still do make them and they are stainless steel now. I'd say shoot them an email and see if they have any in stock. :talon:

The only place to get the Holset turbine housings is at theturbotrader.com They order larger quantites of the holset housings that is the ONLY reason that there are any of these housings left. You can get them from Gpopshop or VIP garage or Timsturbo, but they all still come from theturbotrader.

Also if you are interested in the bolton turbine housings I would order them now, because on the next run of stainless housings the price is going up $30.

I bought a bolt on housing for my HX-40 a few months ago and couldn't find one for the life of me. Ended up ordering it directly from Bullseye as nobody had them in stock and whoever runs the turbotrader wouldn't ever answer their phones. The lady at Bullseye told me I got the last Mitsu housing they had.

So does anybody even make a housing thats a t3 inlet with v band outlet.....I know the turbo trader shows one but it doesnt say what chra it fits.....?

I think if you want accurate and current info on these housings you would have to talk to David Hall at Bullseye on the phone.
I've also gotten good info by emailing Tim at Tim's turbos. Tim told me in October he had one plain steel .55a/r T3 inlet/DSM outlet turbine housing left in captivity, brand new, for the HX-35. That one is a T3H1.
I've tried calling turbotrader a few times and have only gotten an answering machine.

I called Bullseye about the DSM-in / DSM-out stainless housing for the HX-35 and wound up talking to David Hall when the woman who answered the phone started giving me wrong information. Here are my notes from the conversation with David.

HX35 TMH1 turbine housings, Oct 30, 2008:
David says they are stainless. The ones they have in stock are not polished. They can send them out to a robotic polisher for $45, no problem. They are TMH1 housings which is the proper part # for HX35 DSM in / DSM out .55ar housings, so they have not been reworked from TD05 or Garrett housings. They have the drilled wastegate passage. They can give you a puck to weld over the wastegate passage if you want wastegate on the manifold.
They have 4 or 5 of these housings in stock.

Says the TMH1's they have right now were poured 6-9 months ago. He says ones that were poured a year or more ago could possibly be plain steel, they did make some that way.

David says the HX35 compressor cover is 8" across. He actually has 1 or more there in stock, 7 blade, says that's how they all come now. I told him I was surprised that he had any, thought he didn't sell them anymore. He said he doesn't "promote" them anymore but he will still sell them to people who want one. $999 price. I didn't ask if they are new from Holset, or rebuilt. Or if they have the Holset ID plate on the compressor housing.

So that's what I got on Oct 30. If you get a worthwhile update from him, let us know ok?

Gary

How much are those Vband 3 inch .70 AR T3 housings direct from bullseye? That looks sick in the picture above.

BTW, this isn't 0.70 AR. This is 0.55...

This is 0.70 AR, T3 with V-band discharge. It will fit HX-40 and H1E turbos:

I don't know, if Bullseye sells directly these housings. I bought this from Turbotrader, very fast shipping and good service. I think it was $ 225. It is totally worth it. I would suggest call him again and be more cosistent on the phone. You guys allways try e-mails and stuff and this thing is slow/e-mails turnaround time, almost allways/.

It is the same it has jut been cut for the holset CHRA and turbine wheel. They are the same raw castings.

Someone needs to inform Bullseye that the Holset turbos are more popular than they ever were before at a time in which they've stopped producing new housings and are running out of stock on housings they've already produced. That doesn't seem like good business tactics to me.

Don't they read these forums? Did they miss the 5 seperate 30-page threads discussing Holsets? I don't see that type of following for BW's.

Yea. The problem is its hard to invest money into something that already 15 years old. BW and Bullseye are looking to expand their horizons. Such as getting out of dsms. LOL I'm going to give them a call to see whats up as soon as I buy my holset.

When you get some info, post back. I'm interested in hearing what they have to say.

If they cast 200 new Holset housings tomorrow, they could probably have every one sold by next spring if everyone that talks about going to Holsets actually does. That's a hell of a profit for Bullseye rather than missing the market and hoping to sell a high-priced BW turbo to a Honda guy.

Just because they didn't sell HX35/HX40 turbine housings four years ago doesn't mean they won't now. Nobody was running Holsets in 2004.

Nobody was running Holsets in 2004.

I was!!! I have had my HX35 since 2003. IT was the first one cut. It was done on a manuel lath for the proto type.. And the best part about that is that the Holset now has a ton of miles on it and it is just as strong as it was when it was installed. No shaft play or any signs of wear.

That's what I like to hear!

What is your normal boost level? Where do you have your oil supply drawn from? Restricted / not restricted?

I pull it from the oil filter housing. No restrictor. No balance shafts. Normally run 18-20psi.

The air-2-liquid intercooler is fun. The car is a total sleeper. No FMIC. Twin outlet Muffler. It looks stock. I wish I could quite the turbo whistle down some. Oh well

Same here...
Had the turbo on the car since 2005, I think. I was actually the first,or may be second person that bought retail Holset turbo from Bullseye. Back then they weren't cheap!!! with feedline and return kit and internal WG, it was $1250-1300, I think.
It took them- BEP more than 2-3 weeks, to complete my order. Also got freebie of some kind. I ordered HX-35 and when received it- 8 blades, so I thought 35. Some time like 2 years after that my friend bought HX-35 and one day we had for some reason both cars together with the intake pipes OFF and he saw the difference: 56mm vs 60mm inducer is visible by naked eye, even witout ane comparison. So since then I started reading on Holsets and found out, that HX-40/H1E had TMH2 stamped on the BEP bolt-on..... Soo that is how I got my H1E instead fo HX-35. Very happy about it, if it was HX-35, would definately not enogh...
Not many miles on it, but strong.Boost 18-23 PSI over time and it was fed from OFH/ no restrictor, no BS/. Recently started feeding from the head.
