I can't seem to get the last bolt off on the oil cooler, its covered by the timing cover. What all is needed here for removal? Also I'm thinking while I'm in there I might as well put in an aftermarket external oil cooler and clean up that area(thinking about relocating the alternator also). What is the best way to go about this? I saw this kit from stm http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...oil_cooler.htm

Yeah I figured, so I've never removed the cover, whats the easiest way to go about doing this? I have most of the outside bolts removed, i've removed 2 at the top, 3 at the bottom so far.

Can i remove just the lower portion of the timing cover? Is there and way to remove the timing cover without removing pulleys?

nope, not without breaking the cover.

it's a PITA but unfortunately the only way to go.
