I was just ordering some clear corners on eBay and I go to pay for them, woops, you don't have a confirmed address, sorry you can't buy them.
So in order for me to buy them I need to set up a cred card to my paypal, Which I don't have.
So now this company wants me to pay for them and technically they won't let me pay for them.
I'm screwed.
What am I supposed to doooo? Lol.

to bad for them? they wont take your money, their loss.

Yes it is, they want a verified adress, which is BS because I've boughten 6 things with an unverified one..

Call them and make the payment over the phone with your bank card.

my shop has an ebay store, and we are hating ebay as well as thousands of other stores on there.

if you do not know about listing things on ebay, here is a rundown....

the old way was to use a program supplied by ebay called turbolister. it made making listings a breeze. paypal, m/o, cash, check, you name it, you could pay with it. ebay also had breaks for stores. you could list so many items, and be offered a break on some listings, a credit so to speak. which let you have listings uploaded for free with no charge. something like 1 out of 100 or some crap. i dont remember the exact number since the have gotten rid of that. they have also gotten rid of, or actually, as of january 17th, 2009, they will be getting rid of any other form of payment other than paypal. since ebay owns paypal, and charge people to list things on ebay, and also charges a percentage of the price when an item sells, it seems like a win win for ebay.
they upgraded (downgraded) the feedback system so that there is a star system as well as positive, negs, and neutrals that has always been. the star ratings are crap. store owners are getting negs for shipping when shipping is free just because the post office or whoever the shipping company is, is lsower than snot, or even on time. they are also getting negs for other things. this is all due to the fact that sellers cannot give anything but positives to buyers regardless of what the buyer leaves. the buyers are getting to be aware of the situation and are leaving negs for no reason than to just be asses. also, ebay is trying to rid sellers of charging shipping for items, they want us to do free shipping and up the actual price of the item (basicly shipping included in the price.) you know why? because paypal and ebay cannot tax in on shipping charges!

sellers are what made ebay, without them, there would be no ebay, and the higher ups need to recognize this before we (store owners) decide to up and leave ebay.

imagine what would happen to ebay if ALL the ebay stores quite and dropped shop for just one day, i mean pulled every item off the website they had listed for one day. ebay would wrinkle up and die after 24 hours.
this is what is happening to ebay.
sorry for the rant, but i had to redo 5100+ items this week because i had "we accept paypal, money orders, and personel checks" in my description on all my store items, and if i did not fix them by the 17th of january, i would have lost all my online items.
i feel bad for what ebay is doing to the sellers, but ebay is over 50% of my shops income, even though we lose money selling on ebay compared to selling a part out the door.

we get this occasionally from buyers on ebay, call the shop and order it over the phone, or email them. you could make arrangements to send in a m/o or check without having to deal with ebay.
this is what is going to happen to alot of sellers on there once this nothing but paypal crap goes through.

How is it hard? I had a paypal when I was 16 too, first purchase was a set of plug wires for my dsm.

Surely you have a savings account. Go to the bank and open up a checking account and sign up for a debit card with it. Fill out the paper work and have at it.

But thats the thing. I don't WANT a debit card.
I just talked to the seller, if they dont allow me to pay with an unverified I told them I will have to unfortunately withdraw my payment for the item, it should be okay, I hope.

Well not to be an arse but you have no real leverage. You entered a binding contract with them and can't withdraw. They will most likely open non-paying bidder report with ebay if you don't pay.

I know and if they tell me that, I guess I'll have to borrow mommies credit card.

How about a prepaid debit card? You can get them anywhere these days... Walmart, ect.

Or just a debit card, no money in the account and just use it to verify your paypal then you'll never have this prob again.

That'll work. But I hope I can get this straightened out, and then READ THE FINE PRINT and only buy from sellers that allow unverified addresses.

Ask if they take money orders and get one at your local bank, I used to by everything from E-Bay with Money Orders.

Why would I want to do that?

Cause debit cards are dandy little ####ers if you know how to use them right and not screw yourself with em. Google and you'll see what I mean.

Some sellers ruined it for the rest of ebay. Ever seen an auction for something worth 500 but is selling for 50? The shipping is always 450. Nothing ebay could do about it other than get rid of shipping charges.

Yes, ebay is a greedy bastard but half the things they do is because of sellers screwing over customers. I once won an auction, paid for it, then had the money refunded to me because they didn't have the part (). I leave a neutral feedback for them. No big deal, I'll get it from another seller. TWO MONTHS later these clowns leave me negative feedback and file an unpaid bidder report against me. It took a call to paypal with all the account/transaction/item numbers to get rid of that. Seller tries to screw me over and the only thing that happened was a huge hassle for me and a "mutually withdrawn feedback" for them.
