I received a email from Aniel@FP stating that the FP2X has been discontinued and the FP4R cams will be its replacement. Any of you guys have hands on experience with it ?
I wonder if it is a Drop in like the FP2S/X.

I run a 50trim btw , still dreaming of a HX40 in the future.

p/s , sorry bout my english

 The FP2X is what I was going to buy for my Talon!.

Just by a quick glance the 4r's look way to big for the mild street build. I was going for. :notgood:

If they're 4r cam is a "replacement" for the 2x, I'm going to be looking else where for cams. That would lead me to believe that the 4r and 5r are not nearly as aggressive as they make them seem to be. Just my 2 cents. As for knowing if that is the truth or not, just call them.

the FP4R has 11.7mm max lift while the FP2X has only 10.5mm
but they never mentioned if the FP4R is for the 88mm or stroked crank ,
so in other words , there might be possibility that we need to degree them rite :p

i checked the cam cards , i guess , rather than going for the FP4R , i would step down to the FP2S instead :D

damslowtsi : i pasted the comparison of the cam specs below, only diffrence in the FP2X and FP2S is the lifts , which is very very minor. the duration is the same , if FP2S is a drop in, i guess the FP2X is too

Here's the difference between the Fp2 cams and the Fp2x cams. The Fp2 cams are fine with stock springs. What's the difference in ramp rate? Dual valve springs are NOT required. It's been proven. A set of the weak manley singles as all that's neccesary. There are stronger manley singles out there, too. Stock retainers and the weaker manley singles have been through years of abuse and 8500rpms all too frequently. No valve float.

Fp a year ago used to claim that duals were required. And it just so happened that they had a set of expensive dual springs for you to buy. No singles. Except for behive springs which are supposedly good to 9K and .45 lift. They are more expensive than manleys or BC singles too.

They may not be drop in. But they sure are close. I wouldn't recommend even hks 272s to 9k with the stock springs. But duals are hardly required for such a feet.

Yeah the reason I seam to be hearing is they think the x cams are too aggressive for regular springs that are out there mixed with the fact that if you have a cam you don't need new springs with but it's a half ass cam and you have another cam that only needs $120 manley springs like monster's setup than why would anyone buy the ####y cams. Like Mitsubishi selling awd eclipse's still for like 20k and trying to sell a 32k evo ...but that's another story
