Hey guys, I did look around but I just wanted to make sure...I just purchased some Rota G Forces 18x9 with a +30 offset. I was wondering if anyone knew if running a 245 tire would work out fine? Maybe with more rubber than my 225's I can stop breaking them loose everytime the turbo spools from 1st to 3rd haha.

running a 245/40 is very common. However, it has ALOT to do with how low your is and camber. If you car is slammed you, are going to rub everywhere. In addition, the offset you have is going to make them stick out passed the fenders by about 1.25".

Well my car isnt slammed down, its lowered about an 1.5" although one side seems alot lower than the other. Maybe I'll just stick to a 235 and see how that goes for the first set, I dont want them sticking out too far

Sticking out too far from the fender has little to do with the tires. The wheels are already 18x9 with a +30 offset and as DSMSpyder99 said it's going to stick out 1.25".

its going to stick out that much regardless of a 225-245. That offset with that width is not meant for a stock body 2G. If you are concerned about traction the more sidewall the better. So getting a 235/45, 225/45, or 245/45 would be ideal. The reality is you are going to rub just depends how much on how stiff you suspension is.

EDIT: I just saw you have the tokico suspension kit, you are definitely going to rub those kits have been known to lower the car more than they advertise. Put it this way I have 17x8.5 (35mm offset) with a 255/40 and I have a 2 finger gap in the front and a 3 finger gap in the back. My Tein coilovers are stiffer than any "off the shelf springs" I am aware of. With this set up i don't rub.

Get some fender flares if you really want tires that wide.

I still have a 2-3 finger gap in the front and larger in the rear. Also, I saw these wheels on a DSM and they wernt sticking out that far, maybe 1/2" or so.

245 tire on that offset of a wheel is going to rub no matter what. You will need to flare the fenders or run a stupid amount of camber (talking -2 degrees + on both front and rear) to get them to not rub. You fortunately shouldn't rub any of the suspension.

One idea that would have been good was to make sure that particular wheel would have worked for you before you bought it and wonder if it would... just a suggestion for next time,

Yes, I said that I saw this wheel on an eclipse with a 235 and it has a minor rub in the rear, I was wondering how much i would be able to push it. Thanks

You might have a chance running a 245/35/18 Def going to rub with a 40. I'm probably going to a 255, 265/35 next.

What size and offset are you running? See the problem with my front fenders, they are carbon fiber so I dont want them sticking out too far and come close to them we all know how fiberglass probably wouldnt like it too much.

Are you running 17's? or are you not dropped to be running that size of tire. I like the dsm btw looks sleek

Thanks 18's all the info should be in the profile. Stock height to keep it safe on these rugged tri state roads.

haha yea tell me about it, nothing beats the roads up here. I think I'm going to try them 245/35s I think they will work out. What part of jersey are you in?

Like I've already said, you'll rub no matter what unless you run a silly amount of camber. With 245/35/18 tires on +30 offset rims you're going to have to run like -1.7 deg camber in the rear to get them to clear and you'll need to roll up the inner fender/frame lip too. -1.7 deg rear camber isn't going to handle well, but if you don't care too much about the handling or goofy look then you can do it.

I know this because I've run 245/35/18 tires on a +35 offset rim. While there is a slight variance from tire to tire in the actual dimensions, I can tell you that it takes what I described to get this setup to work in general.

I'm running 245-45-17's on my car, and it lowered a couple inches or so. Even with the stock size of 215-50, I had to pound the lip on the rear fenders up to stop the rub going over any bump, going to this much wider size didn't seem to change the clearances much. When you are using the same width rims, it sucks the sidewalls in.

Yea, right now I run a 18x8.5 35 offset with 225's and dont even come close to rubbing but I know my camber is WAYY off ,somewhere near 3 degrees from lowering it. I guess it will be close and I'll take my chances

Union area you? If I were you I'd go with a thinner tire a 225 or so and be safe. Your not going to be setting any records with 18's anyways. Sorry I forgot to mention my fenders are rolled.

Im from the Scranton area. Im thinking 235's because thats what Ive seen on them and they didnt rub except the rear somewhat but my rear is still pretty high so. I wish I could go to a smaller wheel size but I have the rotora 4 piston big brakes and really only some 17's work so its tough
