Was driving on the Garden State Parkway. Sme construction was going on and basically closed two of the right lanes. I was riding along the cones past construction vehicles and saw cars coming off the ramp so I checked my left side quick to see if there were any cars and I was boxed in so the only thing I could think of doing was braking. Anyway turned my head back and just barely saw a silver car jump right off the ramp in front of me. *Boom!* I felt the hit and was cursing at the top of my lungs. I quickly pulled over and assessed the car. Everything seemed to be running fine so I shut it off and wait for the other car to drive over.
We assessed each others damaged. Basically my whole right fender is done while my paint is on her car. Door won't open because of how bad the fender is damaged. Called my dad up and asked for help. Told me to file a police report. The chick was kinda panicking cause it turns out her insurance dumped her today because she hasn't paid it.
Well the state trooper came. Told the story and it wasn't my fault even though the chick tried to make it seem like it was my fault. She was telling the trooper how I was speeding by (mind you I was keeping up with traffic). The trooper smiled and was like "You didn't see him? His lights are really bright." (HIDs ftw). Anyway it was her fault because I had the right of way. She also got a ticket for not having insurance.
She offered to pay for it when I get estimates. We exchanged info and went along my jolly way. I'm still wondering what to do. My dad said to call my insurance up and file the claim. I just hope they won't total my car. Pictures will come tomorrow.
